Some bands i really enjoy: Genesis, Pink Floyd, Yes, King Crimson, Van Der Graaf Generator, Opeth, Spock's Beard, Transatlantic, Camel, Jethro Tull, Rush, Porcupine Tree, ELP, Gentle Giant, Tool
I also like Jazz fusion like Mahavishnu Orchestra, Return to Forever, Weather Report, Jean Luc Ponty and Al Di Meola |
You don't like The Flower Kings? Hmmm....but a good list you have there and some of my absolute favorites as well. Norway doesn't have a huge progressive scene, but my favorite Norwegian band is White Willow. There's something incredibly haunting in their music. One of my favorites. Welcome aboard!

I forgot about TFK, i was a big fan of them but lately i havn't really listened to them anymore. I'll go check out White Willow.

Excellent, glad your enjoying them. If your a Fusion guy, look no further. Delve into their catalog as much as you can, if you're really interested; a very rewarding experience. Jaga are just a fantastic blend of so much music that I love - Prog Rock, Post Rock, Jazz of course, and even a clear Electro influence in there as well. Though often regarded as more associated witin the Jazz world, they're extremyly eclectic and diverse, it's really hard to pin them down. Which tunes were listening to anyway? |
Lithuania, Airborne and Low Battery i think.

This is true. The Finnish and Estonian languages are apart of the same family. I think of Scandinavia as Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. I never felt Finland were apart these countries.

Finland is one of the Nordic countries, but it's not a part of Scandinavia. Scandinavia: Norway, Sweden and Denmark. The Nordic Countries: Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland and Finland.

I recommend to you three American groups who only released one album, in the 70's Yezda Urfa Cathedral Hands
These bands were all heavily influenced by Yes, Gentle Giant, King Crimson etc. You should really give the a listen if you already haven't.

Elverum? I know Elverum. I drive through it on the way to my family cottage in Koppang. Do you know "elgen" and "soppen", Undercover Man?
