I find these moveis to have similar tones and mood, stylisticaly gritty and nasty, but also beautifully made aswell, the movies are both gritty and beautifull on the same time which is quite remarkable. this is about the movies, not comics, the movies as well movies,

which movie entertain you the most, which makes you wave your hands and beat your chest the most,

both movies challanges our morals and our perseption of violence, you thorugh the film see the dark side of violence bu the movie aint hiding the graphical roance that can be found in revenge and forfull your duty by all ways nessesary,

savey

Didn't really enjoy either but voted for Sin City as it seemed better produced.

Sin City was an excellent, really entertaining movie. I'm pretty sure i've seen Dick Tracy but my memory of it is...non-existent.

No vote.

There is an option missing.
The 'I didn't like any of them!' LOL
I watched them both, but I didn't like them, sorry...
Actually I think the only film I loved that was a transfer from comics to the cinema, was 'V for Vendeta'. An absolute wonderful movie that one!
But I will vote for Sin City because it was a better movie IMHO...

Sin City by a very long way. Excellent film. Dick Tracy was sh*t.

i did not really think Dick Tracy as that good ether, like the stylistics but it was stale and to un-inspired (2/6 stars)

Sin City is a stand out film based on comics (graphic novel), one of the best (top 5) in the past decade,

all actors delivers in Sin City, Mickey Rourkes re-debute in limlight, (everyone say the Wrestler is (fantasitic film) but Sin City brought him back and showed that he is one of the greatest actors alive), Bruce Willies killed it, and killed the yellow perv, like a boss, Jessica Alba made me drawl sometimes, and Alexie Bledel  was amazingly cute as allways, here blue eyes are mezmerizing.

Sin City was a goofy movie. Dick Tracy had more substance, closer to the Noir genre's roots.

Dick Tracy was an actual movie. Sin City is all style, no substance or anything else.

Dick Tracy played out like a radio play, Sin City played out like a graphic novel - both were actual films (sorry, moovies) but with narative styles from different media.

I enjoyed both.  Haven't seen Dick since I was much younger (hey hey no jokes there now), but I recall enjoying it.

True. But what works in a graphic novel fails to do so in the big screen if the same rhythm and treatment is given. In my opinion.

It worked for Watchmen and 300. In my opinion.

Watchmen the movie and Watchmen the graphic novel are different enough to both work, in my opinion.

Worked even better in Sin City in my opinion.

Also for me nearly anything is better than Dick Tracey.

Sin City by a long shot. As I recall, Dick Tracy came off rather flat. Big build-up but no delivery.
