The flaw being, basically: However either Johnson or Paul feel about global warming and evolution it wouldn't effect how they govern, as neither would view these as political issues.

I just dropped in on this thread and it has thouroughly reinforced my biased opinion that conservatives really have no sense of humor or humour for that matter...

C) Liberals have either awful senses of humor (see awful awful comedians: Al Franken, Janeane Garofalo, Margaret Cho) or they find it more valuable to be offended by everything than to laugh at anything

That's kind of my point. The AJC has now started posting a combo of a liberal and a conservative political cartoon. I'm not seeing the humor in the conservative ones. It might be just me. Ramirez is the guy usually picked for conservative. We have some well drawn ones on the conservative side and I confess I don't like Mike Lucovich's style. Ted Rall is kind of cheesy. I said professional. I think idiots lurking internet forums makes better ones. I like comics. Non Sequitur and Calvin and Hobbes are regularly good.

If you mean newspaper cartoons: Farside, sometimes Dilbert
TV: The Simpsons (pre-2000), South Park, Futurama, The Critic, Clerks (the cartoon was great because it was nothing like the movie), ATHF, Venture Brothers, Metalocalypse, King of the Hill, Freakazoid, and more I can't think of off the top of my head Edited by manofmystery - August 13 2012 at 19:54 |

I also think political cartoons are, in general, abysmally unfunny. Plus, they draw so bad that they have to stick a badge on people's chest so you know who they're mocking.
There are plenty of other cartoons I love dearly, particularly older ones. Calvin and Hobbes is fantastic, as is the Far Side. I really love the old style of comics from the 30's or so, like the original Popeye strips or early Mickey Mouse or Carl Barks' Donald Duck. Web comics I enjoy include perry Bible Fellowship, xkcd and Darths and Droids. |

Obviously Ron Paul's budget plan is better than Ryan's, but Ryan's at least has a chance (admittedly a very small one) of getting passed. You can't convice people to cut that much that quickly. You have to do it bit by bit.

Well you can't control a Congress 25 years from now. I also think the particular of what is being cut is important. Cutting social programs and expanding military operations will only make things worse.

I'm not going to say I didn't laugh the first time I saw that, because I certainly did, but Atlas Shrugged hate gets old man. Coincidentally, I did actually finish LOTR when I was 14 which is the same year I discovered Ayn Rand.
