I was all ready to vote for the abomination that is Spiderman 3, but then I saw Batman and Robin at the bottom and my vote goes to the armour with nipples.

Voted for "other". Highlander 2. Ugh.

^ I'm pretty sure this poll was inspired with this movie.

I disagree with many of these choices.

I'm pretty sure The Dark Knight Rises was intended to happen when the first one was being made, it's like putting the last LOTR movie on this list. Most of these other movies are obvious cash-ins because of movies prior.

Actually, those are called "second sequels". So, you could say that those are "sequels in a series".
You're saying what I already said.

The only really bad sequels are those where the original was already dismal. Most of the flims listed here are fairly decent films in their own right, just some of them had a lot to live up to (including the expectation of the fans) - that doesn't make them bad, it just makes them not as good as the earlier film(s) in the series.

Eddie Murphy in a fatsuit - those are just going to get progressively worse with each film by default.
What?

Caddyshack 2, without question, is the worst sequel of all time.

Believe it or not, these atrocious quotes are part of the same film:

Robin: I hate to disappoint you but my rubber lips are immune to your charms

Robin: [checking out the Batmobile] I want a car, chicks dig the car.
Batman: This is why Superman works alone.

Robin: Where's the snowman?
Batgirl: Maybe he melted.
Batman: No, he's just hibernating

Batman: [Batman bids for Poison Ivy] One million dollars!
Robin: [as does Robin] Two million!
Batman: You don't have it. Three million!
Robin: I'll borrow it from you! Four million!
Batman: Five million!
Robin: That's a utility belt not a money belt. Six million.
[Batman looks at Robin and then produces something from said-belt]
Batman: [firmly] Seven million.
[it's a credit card blazed with the Bat symbol. Expiration date: FOREVER]
Batman: Never leave the cave without it!

Batgirl: [to Poison Ivy] Using feminine wiles to get what you want? Trading on your looks? Read a book, sister. That passive-aggressive number went out years ago.

Batman: Hey, Freeze. The heat is on

And then of course we get all the f***ing winter/cold/ice related quotes from the austrian Mr. Freeze:

Mr. Freeze: You're not sending ME to the COOLER!
Mr. Freeze: Mercy? I'm afraid my condition has left me cold to your pleas of mercy
Mr. Freeze: Tonight, hell freezes over!
Mr. Freeze: Ice to see you!
Mr. Freeze: NOT! Surprise, I am your new cell mate. And I'm here to make your life a living hell. Prepare for a bitter harvest. Winter has come at last.
Mr. Freeze: I will blanket the city in endless winter. First Gotham, and then the world.
Mr. Freeze: What killed the dinosaurs? The Ice Age!
Mr. Freeze: In this universe, there's only one absolute... everything freezes!
Mr. Freeze: Cool party!
Mr. Freeze: [referring to Batman and Robin] Their bones will turn to ice! Their blood will freeze in my hands!
Mr. Freeze: Can you be cold, Batman? You have eleven minutes to thaw a bird. What will you do? Chase the villain or save the boy? Your emotions make you weak. That's why this day is mine!
Mr. Freeze: If revenge is a dish best served cold, then put on your Sunday finest. It's time to feast!
Mr. Freeze: Watch the numbers, Batman, for they are the harbingers of your doom. Can you feel it coming? The icy cold of space! Ahh! At 30,000 feet, your heart will *freeze* and be no more!
Mr. Freeze: Allow me to break the ice. My name is Freeze. Learn it well. For it's the chilling sound of your doom.
Mr. Freeze: Let's kick some ice!
Mr. Freeze: The Ice Man cometh!
Mr. Freeze: Tonight's forecast... a freeze is coming!
Mr. Freeze: [freezes Robin] Stay cool, Birdboy.
Mr. Freeze: Yes! If I must suffer... Humanity will suffer with me! I shall repay them for sentencing me to a life without human comfort. I will blanket the city in endless winter! First... Gotham. And then... The world!
Mr. Freeze: One more giant diamond of this size, then my freeze engine will be complete. Aah. First, I will freeze the city, then I will hold Gotham ransom. Unless the city bows for my demands, it's winter forever in Gotham. The city fathers will have no choice but to give me the billions I need to complete my research, then I can find the cure.
Mr. Freeze: Freeze in hell, Batman!

In case you haven't guessed, I'm talking about the pile of crap that was Batman & Robin Dead

Morningrise!

You posting all those `Batman and Robin' quotes just makes me want to watch it all over again! I find the film a huge guilty pleasure in a `so bad, it's good' way - just like Van Damme's technicolour `Streetfighter' movie!

I TOTALLY forgot about the fake Bat-lips bit! Totally out of the 60's show!

And I've actually not noticed that `Freeze in hell' line before! Love it!

I totally get you. It's a terrible film, but the script is so bad it's freaking hilarious. And I don't know who the hell must have thought of Clooney to portrait Batman. Worst choice ever. Besides:

Enough said.

Looking at that picture you posted, Clooney LOOKED the part behind the mask, but he was very unconvicing when he actually acted in it. He was just too....George Clooney??

I think his only good scenes in that film are when he's with the frail Alfred, which were surpisingly touching.

I did read recently that, although he knows how bad the film is and how ridiculed it is, he considers that film the biggest break he ever got in his career!

I would have chosen Terminator 3 from the list, but I voted "Other": Conan the Destroyer.

Otherwise, maybe Highlander 3 . I don't remember any of it, only that it was awful, worse than 2.

The Exorcist II was also an incredibly bad sequel, especially considering how great the first movie was.

The Ring Two - another really bad sequel which I have entirely forgotten.

Hey Wilmon91! I love `Conan The Destroyer' lol!

OK, so it's not grand and epic like the first one, but it's a hugely entertaining comic book styled movie! Grace Jones was great fun in it too! I found it quite fast paced and easy to watch when I saw it a few weeks ago for the first time in a long while.

Don't remember much about `Highlander 3', it was a big improvement on the second one, but mostly a retread of the first one, and didn't advance the series story one bit. I think the swordfighting in it was the only slight positive?

Love your Castlevania avatar, that old SNES game is one of my favourites!

^ Well, I have forgotten most , but I remember some scenes. In one scene they are sneaking around in a cave, very overplayed , and there is smoke coming out of their mouths when they are breathing, to show how cold it is... and it looks ridiculous. I thought it was horrible but I guess it might be entertaining if you see it from another angle!

Great that you like Castlevania.Smile It's a favourite of mine too, the music is really something else!
