After some thinking I arrived to the conclusion that doing a top 25 for each of these decades wouldn't be fair, since I haven't seen nearly as half films as on the other ones. So I joined them on this one and only poll.

I voted twelve angry men, but I also love Mary Poppins and 2001. Some of my favorite films are from the fifties, but most are not on your list.

Haven't seen all of these, but Failsafe should be there.  I watched 2001 recently.  Still utterly boring.  Night Of The Living Dead is still impressive for what it accomplished with a low budget.  Also missing is The Birds.  Took too long to go absolutely nowhere.

Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

Haven't seen Failsafe. The Birds is one of the Hitchcock movies I like the least.

Agreed. The Birds is snoozeville. I don't understand how people find 2001 boring though. It's captivating.

Rear Window - perhaps my favourite Hitchcock and favourite film. Hard to choose between that an Vertigo, but what a set in Rear Window. And the use of diegetic sound, so many good things about that film.

Not insult anyone who enjoys it, it starts out with a bunch of ape proto humans, the classical music that was used as the soundtrack bores me to death.  The Pan Am product placement.  The ending is pointless.  Good points - not having sound in space, and the intelligent computer being out of control.

To Kill A Mockingbird was my choice but I did like some others; Rear Window, The Graduate, Rebel Without A Cause,12 Angry Men (Failsafe was a better movie).
I have never been a fan of foreign films. This is not a criticism, they're just not for me.

1. 2001: A Space Odyssey - Hands down, favourite movie of all time.
2. The Day The Earth Stood Still - The remake with Keanu Reeves doesn't live up to the original at all, sorry. It's decent in it's own right though.
