I'm ok with calling anything art. Hell, if ONE person calls it art, it is art.
I just took my shoe off and touched it to my elbow. That could be considered art.
But there's a difference between art and "art that deserves to be in a musuem"
I worked at an art gallery for THREE years. I have seen tons of art and there's a point where you have to say "NO this is not enough." Like this guy that had photoshopped pictures of eyes and replaced their retinas with explosions and it said "END ALL BOMBS" on the top of the picture. That is art. Sure. It's art. No denying that. But really, it is trite and has little to no reason to be hanging up in some nice museum... and it ended up getting sold for $2500 That's more than I make in a month after taxes. |

I would say anything that is made/arranged with purpose could be considered art, even if it wasn't intended to be. |

I don't know I think it's kind of awesome that people can see art in a light switch. Just like you can see the art in a craft or a hobby, or just from the patterns of sidewalks tiles... I think that we're accepting it (even if we are accepting it in a rather snobbish way) is kind of interesting.

^^ Yeah, Reckless. I think that was the one I was hoping to go to. I'll need to get my act together soon because I'll have a pretty small window of time to go there, and I've never been to that city before.

that's my slogan!
well idk... it's stupid art that's for sure. I went to a Yoko Ono exhibition and left after 10 minutes just by how much it annoyed me. I feel like it was somewhat Ono's point. So she won that one. Seriously, she had three piles of dirt- all completely alike, and under the dirt wrote "Country A", "country B", "Country C" . It's so annoyingly naive that I was all like fcuk this shizzznugget.

Some political cartoons are like that. They take the easy way out with cheap symbolism.

yep. Some of them make me so angry, because they essentially portray absolutely nothing.
