Do they give you the bottles and the hops and make you brew it yourself?

Well I wouldn't say our bodies are more attracted or more tolerant to either acids or bases. Drinking something with a pH of 2 or a pH of 12 is still going to be highly dangerous either way. While our sweat is ~5.5, our blood is slightly basic at around 7.45. We're susceptible to both extremes either way. Obviously we have a buffer zone of +/- 3 or 4 pH from neutral, or we'd be seriously harmed when consuming soda, lemon juice, etc. The reason we have so many strong acids in our body like stomach acids and such is because acids are wonderful dehydrants and dissolvers so that stuff that goes into our stomach can be digested. If we had a basic system, it wouldn't exactly work as well as bases tend to be more effective at "cleaning" (e.g. ammonia, bleach, soap, etc), so the functions of acids wouldn't be there. And Matt already answered your 3rd question. Bases do have a taste. They tend to be "slippery" and bitter.

My friend and I once made up a bunch of improvised Nordic prog songs that were named after IKEA products. Those Swedish names just sounded too much like Anglagard and Hinn Islenski Thursaflokkur titles.
"Tenhult" was one of them, can't remember any others. Edited by HolyMoly - July 18 2012 at 14:46 |

I can't remember any other names. We recorded some of it, but my friend has it and it was over 10 years ago.
