I must admit, this was my least favourite Can album of the ones I own, along with Delay 1968, but it has grown on me immensely. I wouldn't say it's my favourite now, 'cause, honestly, I can't choose between them, but it's up there, along with Tago Mago, Ege and Future Days, as one of my favourites. Utterly brilliant! |
I hadn't heard a Mooney record until now save for some of the stuff on The Lost Tapes but he sounds remarkably like Suzuki. |
I somewhat agree. There are similarities, in that both voices fits the music very well, and they do have quite similar style of singing, but there are differences too. Mooney doesn't go "all crazy" like Suzuki sometime does But sure, their voices doesn't sound too different, and it's true what it says in the liner notes on The Lost Tapes, lightning did indeed strike twice regarding Can's two vocalists.
Anyway, before:

I'm curious to hear what you think, I think it's one of his better albums.

I really liked it! I heard Us for the first time earlier today and was a little disappointed with that, but Up was really good, I thought.
