Fault on both sides? I'm having trouble seeing how the guy answering his door with a gun when confronted with a group of unidentified people in the middle of the night constitutes fault.

"The bottom line is, you point a gun at a deputy sheriff or police office, you're going to get shot,"

Couldn't they have shot in a non-fatal way? Is the life of vile cops really always more valuable than whoever they face, even if is someone protecting what's his? And of course, there will be no consequences. The "oops, sh*t happens" excuse is the most serious consequence the murderers will ever face.

Going to have to agree with you Pat.  If someone comes to my door at 1:30 in the morning and don't announce that they are law enforcement officers, I'm going to automatically assume someone has come to rape, rob or murder me.  Otherwise, you'd announce your intentions, or better yet, come to my door during the daylight.  The cops should have announced themselves.  They didn't.  All the fault lies with them.
I can understand your anger at me, but what did the horse I rode in on ever do to you?

I agree with this assessment as well. Since when did they stop yelling "Police! Open up!" ?

Of all the things I have to worry about, I am relieved that corn sex is not one of them.

I worry about it.  If corn isn't having enough sex, there will be a shortage, and I might not get my evening dose of popcorn.  And then things are gonna get ugly.  Angry

It's interesting that I never knew corn had such a difficult sex life before. LOL

Anyway, famine isn't a laughing matter.

I'm pretty sure popcorn is a different species, so for all we know it may not be affected at all.

Oh the moment they start regulating my sodium-full stove-cooked popcorn I'm taking it to the streets and I'll do a bloody revolution by myself.

Bullsh*t.  You're just making us buy two of the damn thing.

One grocery store here will have buy one get one free specials, but the price of one will be twice the cost of the same item at Walmart across the street.

I remember one of the lessons in the Scott Foresman reading program material when I was in middle school was one that clued you in on advertising and got you to be skeptical.

I don't know how well the strategy is working for them, but I know that JCPenney has said that it was no longer going to have all of their 50% and greater off sales, but instead that they would be like Wal-Mart and have every day low prices.  Which apparently meant that they were lowering all of their listed prices to whatever those sales prices would end up being.  I've not shopped there since they made this change, so I don't really know if prices have really gone down or not.

Especially since they still have drop dead lowest price deals on certain Fridays.

When I worked at a record store, a favorite tactic was to put "2 for $10!" stickers on bargains cds that actually cost five dollars each, tricking the customer into thinking he had to buy two to get the discount. Things like this drove me nuts, as I really felt them to be dishonest and slightly unethical.

I think BOGOF should be banned full stop in supermarkets.  We live in a society where so much goes to waste and these kind of offers on anything that goes off just encourages waste.  Just put the bloody price down for F S !
Help me I'm falling!
