My wife got roped into that show.  I've given it a shot, and I even like American Idol from time to time, but The Voice just bores me to death.  The premise itself just seems like a non-event: see what would happen if we chose the best singers by only hearing their voice, and not how pretty they are/aren't.  Now that's progressive thinking!  Think of all the great talent that could be lurking out there in the sewers, waiting for their shot at the big time...

Well, at least it's better than judging contestants by their looks. Still a terrible show though.

I don't like just about any reality show or contest show, except Storage Wars; which even that I stopped watching.

Someone like Aretha Franklin would definitely lose on a show like The Voice or American Idol.

Yea- I mean, the sad thing is that it is a premise at all. You mean people were picking singers on American Idol simply because of their style and how attractive they are? WHAT A SHOCKER.

People don't want to hear a good voice. Justin Beiber is famous because people want to f**k him.

One would think that Steven Tyler might have been a better fit as a judge on The Voice.  At least I've always found him to be quite strange looking.

Justin Bieber has a fairly decent voice though.

But there are a million people with good voices. He would not have made it if he was even just 20 pounds heavier ha

It's like his face is made up of wrinkles and botox only. Parts are 70 years old and parts are 35 years old. There's no middle ground on him.

Scott, I'm glad you inspired me to listen to Fly From Here. It's a great Yes album, and I still bought it when it came out even though friends and PA members were discouraging me to buy it.

I finished off my Ant Phillips CDs today, so tomorrow I will start on Phish.  Playing Fly From Here was just a spur-of-the-moment-feel-like-listening-to-play.  I quite enjoy it too.
