But yeah, Sigur Ros hasn't made any music that wasn't decent, even the lowest songs in their discog are worthy of everyone's time.

Sleepy
I was watching the Sigur Ros live DVD a couple of nights ago, and I saw my wife's post on Facebook: "Don't tell Steve, but Sigur Ros are kind of a buzz kill." LOL

Personally, I would prescribe listening to them to anyone with a case of insomnia, but I can't claim to be an expert on them.  This is based on my couple of attempts to listen to them that found me sound of sleep before completion.  LOL

Yes. Exact same result.  Sadly, the Anthony Phillips albums are having a similar effect.  It wasn't too bad when I was laying on the beach relaxing, but now that I am back to the grind, the sheer ambience of it is really making me sleepy.

I haven't heard most of the Phillips albums you've posted, but based on other albums I have, I can see how his music might have soporific tendencies.

I'm enjoying Echolyn's "Mei" album on second listen. The first listen was not exciting, as sometimes happens with first-listens with symphonic prog or eclectic prog.

Something along the lines of I'd rather be stung by a bee than have to endure trying to listen to another Sigur Ros album.

Sigur Ros IS boring, though occasionally pleasant.

I get more and more picky with music. I would listen to Sigor Ros but they never swarm as far as I want them to go. And their soundscapes are more effects driven than compositionally driven. I want more post rock that's like classical music.

Also did I mention "f**k everything?"

Not yet.

As I said, I can occasionally get into them, but for the most part, I can't.
