q.m. is an example of vompspeak, a way of typing that was mostly invented by vompatti. A few years ago we started using tinychat to have real time conversations, but one of the downfalls of the site is a low character limit, and in vomps' case his ? button does not work (which is why q.m. came into being) on the site for some reason. These led to him creating a peculiar way of speaking online that eventually influenced the rest of us. Some words in vompspeak are the result of him or others mistyping a word so often we start doing it on purpose, ture for example.

My voice is deep and quiet, regionally I'd place it in western Pennsylvania or Ohio. Despite living in Atlanta for 20 years, I still do not say "y'all".
My wife was watching some cooking show with a Texan lady, and she said y'all and I nearly fell of my chair. I did not think anyone actually said that, I assumed it was a joke.
Oh heavens no, it's everywhere. My wife even lets it slip out sometimes (and she's from Pennsylvania too).

Thank you for clearing that up. I've been wanting to ask about some of these shred peculiarities, but I just decided to roll with it and see if I could figure it out myself. I couldn't.
