I think it is because the show is highly unrealistic and completely misrepresents what actually happens, sort of like CSI.

I think Scrubs is a great show.  Not true to life exactly, but the humor is great.  I don't really know much about Grey's Anatomy except that it's more of a serious drama like ER but with more romance.
 
My sister is a doctor and she said a lot of the times Scrubs is more accurate than ER or any of the other doctor shows.
(minus all the zany exaggerations and weirdness)
How about House? A doctor I work with rolled his eyes when I asked him about that show.
I think that the reality of House is similar to the reality of all the cop shows out there.  I suspect that the majority of cops will tell you that they have never fired their weapon or been shot, but in the cop shows they fire their weapons and are shot at in every episode.  And don't get me started on the CSI agents firing their weapons and solving crimes like detectives.  LOL   House is probably similar.  The average doctor maybe might see one of these odd diseases cross their paths throughout an entire career, and probably most never do.
