Yea... Considering my band is prog and there are only like 3 prog groups in the whole town, people aren't really into the music that much. And considering we aren't a football team...
My aunt and uncle and their two daughters moved to Columbus about 10 years ago. The oldest daughter is a converted Ohio-ite, but the youngest used to always still wear U of Michigan shirts. (I don't know that she still does or not). I have no idea what kind of music that they listen to, but I am pretty certain that it isn't prog.

I got one for Christmas two years ago. probobly my favorite shirt ever. The only problem is you might have to explain what Prog is alot, depending on who you meet and how often you get out.

People tell me Columbus has a good music scene. Not at all. It is full of SEMI music scenes.
Hipsters that are all up their own asses when really I only know of 4 or 5 bands that know how to play their instruments well.
Punk houses that are full of copycat punk bands trying to "make it" in the "diy world" but none of these bands sound any different from each other and none of them are actually creative. (my friend mickey is in a band though that is pretty cool punk- punk with actual 2 guitars that do different things- which is rare in this "scene")
"Metal" that sucks and sounds like Disturbed meets Godsmacks handicapped cousin
Metalcore because of Attack Attack and all their little disciples and the bullsh*t that came from that. EWWWW
Tons of "GREAT INDIE ROCK" that just sounds like every other indie rock band out there. The Shins, The Format, Bright Eyes, Arcade Fire, Animal Collective are ALLLLLL doing the same stuff, only way way better. This makes all these other little indie copycats obsolete and none of them are original at all, no matter what they tell themselves.
1 math rock band called Survivalist that is pretty awesome... but they used to have 2 horn players and electro beats too and they were more forward thinking back then. Once they cut down from 6 to 3 people it got a little more simplistic and lost a lot of its edge.
1 great indie band called Weight of Whales because their singer is FKING AMAAAZING and they write creative chord structures
1 great solo singer/songwriter turned into a full band because i taught him how to write weird chords and it changed his whole makeup of writing and now he kicks ass- plus a good voice
Mike Wonjiak who is the best indie band here and is actually original
I moustache you a question - Post-rock Math-rock Don Cab TAPFEST!!! Good stuff
And about 10 to 15 other bands that are creative in some way or another- but many of the ones that everyone claims are amazing are really just boring ripoffs of Animal Collective- You have to work hard to meet peopel and find the good groups here out of these bunches.
"O hey look guys! We are white people playing indigenous instruments. Aren't we f**king hip?" No. You're not. This has been done before.
A few prog groups- the best ones being Lemia Belus/ Bemia Lelus, Wade Riggle's "progjects", BEFORE THE EYEWALL (an amazing band- good friends of Mouth of the Architect)
There are a few other groups i didnt mention but you get the point. Cause I have some friends that are in good bands I didnt mention as well- What i do know is I'm ready to move to New York City. No one here has impressed me enough to make me want to stay.
Wooot for elitist rant about Columbus. Now you guys know how much it sucks here.
