^You’re right. My apologies to the ref. How is it possible not to see it when that’s your only duty during the match?

I agree. But seeing the replay, I notice one of the Ukrainian players was offside before the goal. On the other hand, since the ref didn’t react, it should have been a goal. And didn’t Spain score an offside goal yesterday? Looks like they want the "big" teams to qualify to the quarter finals.

And, Ian, you’re Welsh. No wonder you don’t like England! LOL

England through as group winner. Yeeaaah!

My predictions for the rest of the tournament:

Czech Rep.
Portugal                     Portugal
                                           v.
Spain                            Spain
France                                                      Spain
                                                                       v.
Germany                                               Germany
Greece                      Germany
                                           v.
England                     England
Italy

Rooting for England, my only "favourite team" left in the tournament, but can't see them beating Germany in the semi final. Hoping for a German win in the final, no matter who their opponent will be.

It may be so. I only do not want Italy to win.

Yeah, the referees mad two mistakes there. 1. It was off-side. 2. It was a goal. But since it was off-side first, the goal shouldn't had been allowed, so in making two mistakes the referees actually made the right decision in the end (sort of), by not allowing the Ukrainian goal to stand.

You know, the only other time Greece made it through the group stage of an international tournament they went all the way, but lightning doesn't strike the same place twice, or does it?.

It's quite the contrary.
