Yes, would be nice to see some excitement from that place.
Though I do expect Alonso to have a good day, since it's a street circuit.

Ah LeMans already....

I missed the race due to having gone camping this weekend.  Thus I did not know the result when I watched the highlights.

An awesome and well deserved win for Hamilton.  A fantastic drive from Perez (he's becoming one of my favourites) and a great result for Grosjean too.  Grosjean is easily showing he's no mug and isn't worried that he's the second driver for Lotus.  He's more than shown his class.

Perez too.  To start in 15th and to finish 3rd is a great result and a great use of the one-stop strategy that failed so badly for Alonso and Vettell (not the same extent as he came in toward the end).  I like Kobayashi but Perez is the better and more-rounded driver.  He'll be going to Ferrari in the future, I think.  Which is a shame for me, as I'm not that huge a fan of Ferrari.  I wish he'd join McLaren or even stay at Sauber and prove he can win a championship for a team not in the top 3.

I'd love to see that.  It won't happen this season but who knows?

As for Button... I have no idea what's going on there.  It seems his car is really suffering.  He's always complaining about understeer too.

Any ideas, guys?  I really hope it's sorted out as Button is a great driver and deserves better from McLaren.

^Seems to be as much a mystery to Button too.

Yep, he said it's not tires.  He's been off the pace for a while now.  I really hope the issue gets sorted.  I'm a bit worried that if this season continues he'll walk away from McLaren.

Having said that, perhaps another team could help his career too.  He has the talent.

I get the feeling there might be something wrong with that chassis of Button's, it's the only thing I can think of that would account for him being so far of Hamilton's pace all of a sudden after being right up there at the start of the year.

He wont walk away though, he signed a mutli year contract (believed to be about 3 years) at the end of last year.

And James, you look like a yank with your spelling of tyres.Wink

Martin Witmarsh said that Jenson had a different rear suspension than Lewis and that that might have been the cause of his problems.

Lewis was brilliant and for sure Grosjean and Perez drove great too, but this was clearly a race where success or failure boiled down to strategy, and neither Vettel nor Alonso got it right.

This championship is getting really exciting Smile

It already was exciting!
I thought Vettel/RBR were OK. Maybe they mucked up the strategy a bit but the fresh tires at the end was a successful move. Unlike Alonso/Ferrari who stayed out the whole time....if the race was a few laps longer he may have ended up in 8thLOL  I coulda passed him in my toyota...

I'm still not even thinking about it until tickets go on sale (I guess even then they can back out of the race) but man...if that NJ GP happens I will be there!

It did seem like a cool track, I know it had lots of elevation change... and I can also attest the NYC skyline is a nice sightLOL

If finances are right, I might go to the Texas GP next year.

Where are all the Indy car fans, I've been going to the Indy 500 since 03. I also got to go to Texas this year. front row seats, was quite epic, even though Will Power ruined Kanaans chance of winningAngry. I was hoping Graham would win it after Kanaan got hit, but he choked and tapped the wall, letting Wilson catch him with 2 laps left. Also for all you F1 freaks here Rubens couldn't even get his car to start Cry.

Also did anyone watch the race at Detroit? Nothing went right at all, I fell sorry for Roger, who got Indy car back at Detroit only to have the track actually start to come up, which was coming up in massive chunks all over the track, which forced the red flag out so they could repair the track. Then on the restart, it started to ran in a couple of spots on the track, causing multiple accidents. The only thing that went right for anyone was that Scott Dixon lead every lap.

Love the look at that track, and I'd love a road trip to Texas but yeah....helluva trip.
I have a feeling NJ may be a tad easier for meLOL

Sheavy I like Indy, just I've been bad with watching it. I'm a fan of Dario and Tony Kanaan though.
You go every year? That's f**kin awesome.

I've only been to Nascar races and it was in ways better and worse than TV. Don't forsee myself going again.
I'd like to see the Indy 500 or hopefully F1 in the future!

Cool to read that. As you can imagine here in Mexico we are really happy with Perez podium and his great drive in the whole season. He has a bright future, and we also dream to see him in a Ferrari or a McLaren...however, he has to demonstrate he can be Sauber's #1 driver first (and he is doing it).
