Yeah, I worked in the yard yesterday too, and it was surprisingly pleasant outside.

When we first moved into our current house, I mowed over an underground nest of wasps and got stung about 20 times.  That was messed up.

My lawn is pretty much a joke.  Mostly weeds, but when it's mowed nicely, it looks a lot like grass.

We have a long-term landscaping plan in progress, though, so before I die I will have a nice-looking yard.

It all actually started last summer when we learned that we would have to change our drainage system (we have a creek behind our house and a drain pipe where rainwater dumps into it).  We have to change it because of environmental laws, so we decided to build a dry creek bed in our  backyard.  Which then turned into, "while we're at it, we should just redesign the whole thing".  So we hired a landscape designer and it turned into a huge thing.  Mostly my wife's doing, but I'm not opposed to it.  We have a nice backyard space, and it'd be nice to make it more attractive and usable.  Such is the way when you're a home owner.

Ugh. Let's change the subject.  Talking about home improvements on the shred is so uncool of me.

It's about these two Jewish dudes (it's written by Michael Chabon everything he writes about is Jewish) and it's in NYC during WWII and the two start writing comic books and Joe Kavalier is trying to save his family and I ill spoil no more. It starts a bit slow but it gets really good.

I've always had a strange affinity for Jewish culture.  I went to a mostly Jewish high school, and a lot of my best friends are Jewish.  One proudly proclaimed me an "honorary Jew".   The first house my wife and I bought was in a predominantly Orthodox-Jewish neighborhood (the temple was walking distance), and that was kind of interesting.  Felt weird putting up Christmas lights though.  LOL

Oh, and by a total coincidence, for some reason all the streets in the neighborhood were named after a Christmas theme.  There was Merry Lane and Christmas Street and Bramble Road and Holly Lane.

yeah the town I lived in NJ was very Jewish... too Jewish... And Israeli. Didn't feel like overseas enough :O . "Honorary Jew" is the best of all! You can have lots of money and still not eat kosher (lol no one eats kosher. Fine many eat kosher but I don't)!

If I'm a sugarcube I feel like I've gotten a bit wet and mushy.
