Well, to give you an actual response; I believe Roine was joking about the money thing, and I think I speak for many here, that Roine is just the right guy for Transatlantic.

Seriously, I agree.. I'm a big fan and they shouldn't change a thing.

having said that, I think Trevor would be a great match for Neal to play with in a project.. I think their talents are quite similar actually. (except for Rabin's current career)

Well, Roine was probably joking, but the reality is that he makes more money with one TA album and tour than he has on the entire Flower Kings catalog and years of touring.  So he really does need the money, but that is obviously not his primary reason for working with those guys.

Gonna see the man in Finland this summer! Approve I was so overexcited of this that I had to order the tickets as soon as I heard about the happening before promoting it on my Facebook, so that they would not run out before I got to have one.. Big smile

So we now have a release date set for September 11, 2012 for Neal's new album "Momentum". (From Neal's forum).

Thinking about throwing on a Transatlantic album to 'celebrate'.

First of all , I have to admit that this guy is just phenomenal . Some moments on " Testimony 2 " , just blown me away , especially those sympho-prog moments.

I got to say that I am glad, to see how creative is Neal. It's very positive , But you know , there is one small thing that makes me sad. With The Flower King's touring , Mike Portnoy collaboration with Flying Colors and Sherinian , With Marillion recording new album and planning the tour ,  and with Neal Morse releasing new solo album , I doubt that TRANSATLANTIC , will find a space in 2012 to start writing new record ,like Mike Portnoy hoped for. But , however , there's enough good Prog this year , so I think that 2013 will be Transatlantic World Tour Year :)

By The Way , I am new here. Greetings from Poland !

Greetings ProgKev!  There is still a chance of TA getting together this year, but I suspect we won't see a release or tour before 2013.  Hopefully no longer than that.

Great to hear about the new album release date.  Looking forward to it!

i will travel across the nation to see transatlantic this year or next!

from what i've read, portnoy says his drumming is some of his best on the new neal album.  i have a feeling it's gonna be a good one.  he's pretty much gotten all the born again stuff out...so, we'll see.

Neal Morse will tour in Oct right after the Flying Colors tour. I checked Mike's schedule right after I saw the tour itinerary, and he has a gap between the Flying Colors tour and the Macalpine/Sherinian/Sheehan tour. So that means that Mike could fill in as the drummer, specially when he commented that this has been the most prog drum tracks he has ever laid down.

Cool

Neal Morse – Momentum

“You’ve got some new Momentum… you better keep on going,” Neal Morse declares in the exciting title track of his new album. After an amazing 2011 that included the release and subsequent world tour of Testimony 2,  and the release of the 5 disc set of Testimony 2 Live in L.A., what could Neal possibly do to follow that? “That’s about where I was in January of 2012; waiting and wondering what was next. Then, Mike (Portnoy) had an open window at the end of January so I booked him and Randy (George) to come to Nashville to record. But I had no album! Then, an explosion of creativity happened that far exceeded our expectations …”

Featuring the guitar work of 6 string legend Paul Gilbert, and of course the stellar drumming of long time partner Mike Portnoy, Momentum is a musical thrill ride that will leave you breathless! Everything you’d ever want in a Neal Morse album is here; great prog elements, hooky pop choruses, intricate vocal weaving, blistering musicianship and beautiful melodies are all present and accounted for. HIGHLIGHTS: THOUGHTS PT 5, the perfect sequel to the earlier Spock’s Beard classics, WEATHERING SKY, rock/pop brilliance and WORLD WITHOUT END, clocking in at 33:51, this is the ultimate prog epic from the man who practically invented the term.

Also featured on the album is Neal’s newest find, Brazilian guitarist Adson Sodre and other members of Neal’s new live band. With its surprising directness, depth and pure prog exhilaration, Momentum is quite possibly the ultimate Neal Morse album. Mixed by Rich Mouser. Produced by Neal Morse.

***The Special Edition also includes the full, behind the scenes "Making of" dvd, which captures Neal, Mike and Randy at their best in the studio, doing what they love most, making music.***

European release date: September 10, 2012 (InsideOut/Century Media)
