I did a fist pump when Schumacher got pole. Wow. That came from nowhere. Rosberg has been doing better times than him all weekend.
Shame he gets a penalty. If he stays out of trouble and gets a good start, I can see him being on the podium.

Wow, Schumacher sets poll, wasnt expecting that, but for the second race in a row the poll seter gets a penalty. Webbers looked absolutely on it, I get the feeling it will be him and Hamilton that fight it out for the win.

Schumi found his speed again, too bad he has the penalty, Webber can be very happy.
The Ferraris were also a bit of a surprise with both doing quite well.
Big disappointment with Button, only 13th...
We wil see, Monaco is always unpredictable but I would bet on Hamilton or Rosberg.

Ah but even rain for qualifying could change the end result.
People are saying Grosjean's doing well this weekend. I'd like to see him win.
I'm still going for Perez though.

Oh I hope so.
Monaco's an equalizer, so is rain, so both has to be epic. Actually the top few will certainly be no surprise...I've noticed at Monaco it's the lower spots that surprise, like people from crud teams getting points, or finishing higher than usual. Deff excited.

That is Monaco for you, also despite all the madness some general F1 sanity has prevailed still...success has come from up front thus far.

It's whoever gets to the front first, really. Not many overtaking opportunities. Of course, pitstops may play a part.
Qualifying could be more crucial than normal.

Well, everyone is saying Lotus look to be in the best shape for the race on Sunday, but they said that in Spain last time as well.

I'm never one to look much into practice but still I already called an Alonso win, so I'll take this as a good sign

Raikkonen didn't like his Monaco specific steering after an instilation lap so wipped out his practice. The times do look a bit slow, though, I expect we'll see them into the 14's this afternoon.

I feel sorry for ex-GP driver Jean Alesi making his debut, because he's Lotus contracted he has to use one of their engines which means he'll be swapping last place with Simona de Silvestro all day because neither of them have anywhere near the power to keep up with the Honda's and Chevy's.
|
He hasn't done any ovals yet, but it is a good start. And like I said, when you've raced in Monaco and Spa...how bad can an oval be?
Ya know Phil, it's brilliant...the odds for Rubens are probably a bit of a stretch, could end up making bank if he wins!
Holy crap, Jean Alesi...I only know him from the old "F1 decade" show they used to have, they showed the 93, 94, 95 seasons.
|
Well, I remember Mansell won his first ever CART race on an oval (Phoenix if memory serves), though he was driving for Newman Haas at their best. Still, KV are probably the third biggest team in Indy right now.

Yeah, they're in danger of falling below the 105% rule which means they could get black flagged. At least Alesi and De Silvestro are far better drivers than Milka Duno, so you dont have to worry about them acting stupid on track as well.
