Israel buying subs from Germany?  Kind of ironic, don't you think?  Old news but read about it for the first time in the Q&A feature of the newspaper:

Germany Sells Israel More Dolphin Subs

Even funnier, they are made in Kiel.  That is pronounced sort of like "kill" isn't it?

Also, for stereotypical irony:
"The rumors concerning Israel’s nuclear-capable cruise missiles had stalled additional Dolphin class sales in 2003, as had Israeli issues with the price tag."

 Google maps + Wikipedia (which lists military bases and what's deployed from them) is a plane-spotters dream  In a few minutes I've seen the F-15's mentioned in the article at Camp Lemonnier, more F-15 as RAF Lakenheath in the UK and Eurofighter Typhoons ar RAF Coningsby.

Of course they are, but don't be too upset or surprised, if Obama decides to launch an attack on Iran after the elction (I think he will get his second term), or at least gives full backing to an Iraeli strike. Iran will be dealt with at some point. Who is in the whitehouse at the time is fairly incidental imo.

Obama will want America to focus on the fact that the US economy has grown, while the EU economies have shrunk, and in many cases gone into deep recession. This is why he has been trying to convince that old hag Merkal to focus on growth, rather than austerity, because he knows, if Europe goes down the swannie, the US will follow, and as president he'll get the blame.
