Am looking forward to the new TFK album...funnily enough the only one I don't have is Space Revolver ! ( a fan favourite) but it's so darned expensive!!! only seems to be available as an Import ( £22 and upwards!! ) they must be running the entire back catalog down as they all seemed to be at least £14 and thats just for the normal versions.

OMG you need Space Revolver!!!

Here it is, for just $5

http://www.lasercd.com/Products/Flower-Kings--The---07----Space-Revolver__IOMCD2014.aspx

I would say that Space Revolver is the most universally liked album within the TFK community, and it was my first TFK album (though technically second, because I didn't get into it when I first got it, but The Sum of No Evil got me into the band, then I went back to SR... blah blah blah...)

No problem. Even $12 is better than £22 (which is like, $30, yes? I'm not good with the conversion rate).

If you've heard everything by TFK except Space Revolver, man, are you in for a treat!!!

-----------------------------------------------------

This could be a good idea for some discussion, what was the last TFK album you got? Mine was Retropolis, and I know many love it, but since it was my last, I haven't been able to appreciate it as much as you guys. One day I'm sure...

Yeah somewhere around $30..looks like some sellers are trying to get as much cash as they can before downloads and the revitalised Vinyl takes over!
Anyway...the last TFK for me was World of Adventures....I love it....was a tad disappointed with Sum tho...still a great album but didn't hit me like the early stuff

Wow, that's a tough question, what was my last Flower King CD . . . I'm pretty certain that "Unfold the Future" was the last one that I picked up.  As it turns out, it has become one of my favorite by them.  I think the reason that it was the last was mostly circumstantial.  I decided at one point that I loved the band and was going to get every thing by them.  Unfold was just the last one that I found in the price range that I was looking for.

I guess technically, 'Instant Delivery" was the last one (both DVD and Live audio in one package) but I'm pretty sure that Unfold was the last studio one for me.

wow, you have an awesome record store.  we still have a few here in atlanta, but none would carry flower kings.  one is strictly vinyl and the other is focused on adult alternative, alt. country stuff.  we used to have a giant tower records that had EVERYTHING!  miss those days.

never checked out lasers edge.  looks like some good deals there!

Yeah, there are zero record stores where I live.  Best Buy is as close as we get, which is a damn shame as their used to be 3 or 4 places that would order in whatever I wanted for very reasonable prices (and discounts if I ordered enough........with a couple friends we got some great deals that way).  Now, there is nothing.

The last Flower Kings album I got is easy, Sum of no Evil.  I've bought each new release when it came out since Alive On Planet Earth......which means the first studio album I bought from them when it was a brand new release was Space Revolver!

I wish I had gotten into TFK when I first heard about them back in 2005. I used to like In The Eyes of The World a lot back then, but didn't further explore their music until later. Adam & Eve would have been the most recent album back then, and Paradox Hotel would have been my first new album by them to look forward to. Oh well.

I live in New Jersey where everything is condensed because it's so populated here. There is the place by me is in Woodbridge/Fords, NJ which is about a 20 minute drive, another place in Princeton which is about 45 minutes to an hour away (depending on traffic). There's also a place in Red Bank but they're selection isn't that good. These are all privately owned places, I guess, and not chain stores.

All the Best Buy's around here have a horrible selection, in fact, one of them by me got rid of their CD section, and their DVD/BluRay section is one small aisle now. The only other place to get CDs is Barnes & Nobles, but their CDs are waaayyyy overpriced. There used to be Sam Goody's, Coconuts, Borders, and a bunch of other places, and Ive watched them all shut down, one by one, in the past 10 years or so.

It's pretty sad.

Wow, I never expected Flower Kings to be on Blabbbermouth, which is usually a heavy metal site, which includes bands like Cannibal Corpse, Dying Fetus and Cattle Decapitation.

i cut my teeth on Stardust We Are and then got the then new Rainmaker.  then i fell off the wagon.  revisited a few times, but now i'm totally back.  not sure where i'll get the new album.  that laser place looks good.  i'd like to help keep the stores here alive, but the dude who runs the nice store seems to be working very hard to close it.  he's a jerk.  the other place is also very snobby.  given this, i'm not too sad to see some record stores go.  my favorite one closed 5 years ago.  the dude loved everything.  you could go in one day and hear radiohead and go in the next and hear weather report!  he loved it when kids came in too, so it was a nice trip.  miss that guy.  i don't think CDs are ever going to go away...at least not until gen x dies out.

touring america!!  really excited.  also love how roine shamelessly reveals his influences.  nothing ironic about the guy at all.  he's the real deal.  was fantasizing seeing them in an arena....roine deserves so much more success.

Huh, here's some interesting FK related news from Nad Sylvan's FB page:

BREAKING NEWS!!

Ok, you might as well hear it from me first.
So the Unifaun album, that caught the attention of mr Stolt
some 3½ years ago, lead up to the Agents of Mercy“s birth.
As they say, "one thing leads to another" - very true!
After three albums (plus a live album) with AOM this happens;
About a month ago, I got a call from Steve Hackett (Genesis).
He said he is in the process of making a sequal to his Genesis revisited album
"Watcher of the Skies" (1996). He wondered if I would be interested in recording
three songs for Genesis revisited II, namely - "Eleventh Earl of Mar", "The Musical Box"
and "The Chamber of 32 Doors". (It will be a double album, and apart from myself on vocals
there will be people like Steven Wilson, Nik Kershaw and John Wetton among others.)
I would be a fool to say no, right? So off I went to London two days ago.
Spent almost the whole of wednesday in the studio with Steve, his lovely wife Jo and his right hand ROger King -
just trying out things and also getting to know each other a bit. The chemestry was there from the word go!

Thing is - this will go on the road in 2013, and Steve wants me to perform the whole show
as his singer and frontman, singing old Genesis classics. Did I die and go to heaven? Almost think so!
Tour dates in Great Britain and Europe is yet to be confirmed.
A little teaser is, that I will join Steve and his band on stage June the 24 (this year) on the Isle of Wight
festival to sing "Watcher of the Skies". No batwings and cape, but I will make do with what I have, my voice.
http://www.isleofwightfestival.com/line-up.aspx

Roine and Jonas are very busy this year with the long awaited Flower Kings reunion,
and who knows how long they will be touring.
So this gives me a little time to do something else too.
AOM fans - fear not! We will be back in the studio around November/December for AOM4!

Hope this piece of news is as exciting for some of you that it is to me!

Stay tuned - all my love,
Nad

this is great and exciting news.  i love Nad and am so happy to hear he is involved with Hackett and doing Genesis stuff.  this will be a cool project and i hope they tour the US.  maybe they'll be some rare Genesis tunes on this part two.  Also, new Agent of Mercy!!!

roine did say he has 3 projects this year.  so we have two.  what is the third?  solo album, orchestral album, 3rd world electric, transatlantic Smile

Excellent news!  I love Nad's vocals and he's an excellent front man......easily the best Roine has ever worked with (yes, better than Neal Morse...though to be fair to Neal, he's an outstanding vocalist and instrumentalist).  Having him work with Hackett is something that isn't really all that surprising.  On the Unifaun album he's a dead ringer for late 70's, early 80's Phil Collins (with some Gabriel theatricality thrown in).

As I recall, the most likely of Roine's next projects was the singer/songwriter type solo album.  At least, that is what I seem to remember.  Though TA is a good bet as well.

Well, TA is happening, it's just a matter of everyone's schedules lining up. Mike Portnoy said it might happen much later in the year, I think after the summer.

I want to watch that new Flower Kings video with them playing in the studio and some small interviews, but I don't want to hear the snippets from Banks of Eden Pinch

That sounds VERY promising - Thanks for the birthday wishes lads - my birthday brought me 12 new CD's to listen to - The AOM's CD's are not as good as the third Angry but the Lalo Huber solo effort is excellent as is the last Galleon CD in the collection - All European Hero - also excellent.....
The rest I will report on as I listen.
The football season ended in dramatic style - but against my team so it looks like prog and all the discussions thereof will have to being me succour.....

Hasse has played guitar on the last two albums, so it's no surprise that he still is Big smile  I trust Roine's judgment on who is good enough to play with the Kings.
