I will agree with Montoya, I liked that guy.

Villeneuve, I assume you mean Jacques.
Well before my time, but what I saw of him was total arseLOL (OK that wasn't until 2003 I admit)

I know he won a title

Then again, when I first got into F1 Button was more or less a mid pacer/back marker and all the talk of him was how he trashed his own career with stupid team moves. Also, "when will he get his first win?"
I never thought he was much for a long while.

Well, he turned out to be pretty good after all, so ya never can judge on stats alone.

Wouldn't mind some Americans in F1, depending if they're any good and on what team of course.
Not sure anything can get me rooting for HRT LOL

That would be Alexander Rossi, the Caterham test driver and Conor Daley, ex-GP driver Derek Daley's son.

Given how well Josef Newgarden is doing in his debut year in IndyCar for the tiny Sarah Fisher racing, I wish and F1 team would get him back over this side of the Atlantic for a year as a friday driver then a race seat, he's really good.

Yeah, Jacques circa 96-2000 was a top driver, but by the time he was partnered with Button in 2003 he was well off it and has been slow ever since.

Montoya wouldn't fit in an F1 car these days, too many burgers!

I mean, I just assumed Marco Andretti would get a ride in F1. Maybe one day but by this point time is ticking.
Maybe he was never interested in it?
Not the biggest deal anyway, I've lived thus farLOL

Hell, at least Montoya has been decent at NASCAR. Jacques can't even qualify for a race!
God F1 champ to that? How sadCry

Hey I was probably the only Nascar fan that liked the road circuits more than ovals.

Don't worry those days are behind me anyway, got bored with Nascar. Not solely because of the ovals either, but I was a bit upset with the direction of the sport and what it was becoming.

Well Michael Andretti, his father gave F1 a go and he wasn't much good. LOL

Yeah, I'm mostly referring to BAR Villeneuve.  I remember that time he drove into the barrier due to driver error.

Well bloodlines really don't have anything to do with racing.
I just thought it'd be cool to have Andretti back, since they are one of the biggest names in North American racing...open wheel not that stock car crap Tongue

Edit: Man JPM...I really thought that guy was going to be champion. What exactly did happen? I remember when he left, I thought he made some comments about the sport pretty much just being suck, was he just fed up/pissed off with F1 and couldn't take it anymore?

You'll have to be more specific than that if I'm to remember which crash you're on about.

Andretti is a big name anywhere, but I don't think Marco is as good as his dad or grandad, he's being completely outperformed by Ryan Hunter-Reay at the moment.

JPM can't deal with understeer, at all, and the 2006 McLaren had masses of it. I know Kimi doesn't like understeer eithe but he could deal with it better. As for why he left, mostly a personality clash with Ron Dennis, who could be a very difficult man to get on with.

Oh wow RHR! I remember that guy from waaaaay back in the day.

Ah, well I knew it was something about unhappiness.

Going to have to get back into Indy this year, I didn't know Sato and Barrichello were in the series! Awesome.
I love Dario but it'd be cool to see Will Power get a title, which thus far is on a good road to do so

One for KoS, I've jsut seen Casey Stoner has announced his retirement from MotoGP at the end of the year. He's a double champion and people are already talking about him being better than Rossi, and he's only 26! Seems a bit young to stop to me.

Yesss. Will Power better get the championship one of these years. Or bad things will happen.

Well it's tough to stop those ScotsBig smile but this year seems like a mighty fine chance, given the current standings.
Also what happened to Tony Kanaan?
That title seems like a long time ago now :(

I wish I could remember.  It was in his BAR days.

I've just looked it up.  Montréal 2006.

^BAR was an awful car. Not Villeneuve's best days and an ingnominious last few years to his F1 career.

Lotta season to go but certainly off to a Schumacher type start.
I like Kanaan and Franchitti but cmon, he's an aussie named f**king Will Power how can you not like that guy?

Also I can't believe I forgot next weekend is the epic race weekend.

It was to start with but by the time it came good in 2003 he was past it and Button blew him away pretty easily in the end.

James, that was a BMW Sauber, not a BAR. And Viellneuve always did poorly at his home race, unlike his dad who was king at the track.
