Wow.
Pastor Maldonado.

Well...the "pay driver" who's just renting a seat has really shown some drive this year.
Gotta give him credit, great drive.

Was pulling for Alonso but the tires and car just wasn't there. Still a great podium with Kimi rounding it outBig smile

Great race for Grosjean, and the Incredible Hulkenberg for nabbing the final point.
Quiet race from McLaren, though congrats to Hami for the strong drive. Very quiet race from RBR, but Vettel did push hard at the end.

Massa was doing well at first but had to get himself penalizedErmm oi this guy. Jokes aside, not a bad driver but I will not miss this guy...seriously Alonso is pushing for a win and he's how far back there???

Congrats to Pastor and Williams
5th winner from the 5th team in 5 races

IDK why does James use a "Y" ? I thought that was the British way actually.
Though someone, I think Sleeper, said not necessarily. I also found out you guys know/use miles? My perception of reality is all messed up.

Of course we use miles. before you lot did.

....kilometers? What the entire rest of Earth uses?
Though apparently not entirely.
Everything I was taught was lies.

As for Sleeper's superior knowledge don't question him. I think he's actually a computer built to analyze racing.

Man what an epic year, and I still can't believe how hard Alonso is pushing in that car...I said he and Kimi were the top drivers in terms of pure skill and I stick with itTongue

Massive fire in the Williams pit happening as I type this, apparently a KERS explosian, lots of black smoke and I've heard that several people have been injured, hopefully not seriously. The live BBC camera's were showing a lot of people from Williams, Red Bull, Force India and probably other teams joining in to try and put the fire out.

Sad end to a great day for Williams, first win in almost 8 years, there's something very special about seeing the Williams Renault name back on top.

The Proclaimers song just wouldn't work with Kilometres, neither would that Beegee's one.

I didn't know about the fire.  I was going to watch the F1 Forum afterwards but put Final Score instead.  I hope it wasn't too serious?

Didn't another team have a fire a few weeks back too?

Two occurrences this year.  That's a bit worrying.

Oh wow, yeah the moment race ended I had to go out...no idea anything happened.

Can't believe last Williams win was from JPM in 2004!
I always preferred Ferrari or McLaren (or Renault) but it is cool to see em win again. A blast from the past, my earliest days of watching F1.
Congrats again to Pastor, guess I need to eat some more words...

Next race is Monaco gents!
Going to be epic.
Think we'll see 6th winner from a 6th team in the 6th race?
The Devil's victory!?

edit: Just realized...I assume at some point Kimi is going to grab a win, and you'd think Hami and Webber will both find their way to the top sometime. This year will have to set a record for most winners.

Torro Rosso's hospitality suite went up in flames during testing. It looked pretty serious on TV as the black smoke was just pouring out of the back of the garage, lots of people running around with fire extinguishers and trying to get the hose in there to put it out.

Given that Pastor is something of a Monaco specialist, he might even become the first double winner this year, though both there and Canado suit Hamilton perfectly.

I think the 82 season holds the record with something like 11 winners, though there were a number of accidents that year that put people out (Ferrari lost both Viellneuve and Pironi to terrible accidents).

Don't rule out Schumacher winning a race either.

Has there been any word about what caused the fire?

Oh and I shall be watching the highlights in a bit but did anything more come from the Schumacher and Senna incident?

Oh whoops! I forgot about Schumacher (never though I'd say that) yeah he certainly has a chance.
Who knows, maybe Grosjean too?

That was a weird incident, I'll chuck it up to "racing incident" but ultimately have to lay blame with Michael for that one.
That's why Monaco is great, levels the field. I can see any one of 15 people winning thereLOL

Also unlucky Perez.  I was really routing for him today but that puncture at the start screwed his race.

Autosport are also reporting that it happened whilst fuel was being prepared for transport. I guess it'll be a day or two before we fully find out what happened. 4 members from Williams have been taken to the medical centre, one on to hospital, with with undisclosed injuries, 4 from Caterham who are in the gragae next door have also been taken to the medical centre, 3 with resperation issues and one with a hand injury and one guy from Force India with smoke inhalation after helping to put out the fire. Get well soon to all of them.

EDIT: Before I forget, Schumacher has a 5 place grid penalty for Monaco after wipping out Senna.

Oh it was definitely Schumi's fault,  but it all seemed incidental. Still, it is what it is.
I never knew there was a rule about not returning to pits after a quali lap, but there is and really can't be mad...well should be mad at McLaren for making such a silly mistake.

I imagine them as such a spot on, perfect team it's weird to see em make so many mistakes. These pit stops are killing them especially!

I'm stoked for Monaco.

Great win for Pastor and Williams, congratulations!.
As a spaniard I longed for Alonso to win but a 2nd is also a great result for him.
This championship is looking really interesting with Red Bull and McLaren not as strong as we initially thought, and Lotus, Mercedes and Williams doing really well, plus Alonso making the most of his rather crappy Ferrari.

It's really exciting !

As for the Schumi incident, it was his fault even if  can understand that he could not avoid it.

Thing is, Michael makes a driver error and gets a  grid penalty. McClaren make  a mistake and  Hamilton gets  a huge penalty. Basically wasting his whole weekend  and screwing his race. I say, let him race from pole and  dock the team points.

Well I'd agree and have quite a history of questioning the FIA but again, what can ya do?
Still the teams fault for being so foolish. How does it happen anyway?

IDK Gerinksi, each race is a new season basically...sometimes McLaren looks like class of the field, then off, RBR will dominate then not so much...it's real crazy. Every race is a surprise and fight. So I wouldn't get too set on any team being "not as strong as we thought" LOL

^Mclaren were strong in this race. Well half the team  was. Button just never got on with the car at all.
