Enjoy,

While I agree, Roine himself does not.  In fact, he says they were not a real band in his mind until they recorded Retropolis !  Shocked

Still, I think it's crazy to not include that one.  They Flower Kings have always played tracks from it, and they never refer to them as "solo" Stolt tracks.  Of course, Stolt wrote practically everything on the first few albums anyway.

Hey, I'm with you man.  Though I love A Vampire's View.  My favorite track on that album.  Also Blade Of Cain is a good track.  I agree with you about the rest.

Brimstoned is an excellent live album, from a unique one - off tour.  Wish Roine would do something like that again!

yeah, i knew you'd be with meWink  Vampire's View is a really interesting track and i respect it, but don't listen to it much.  take the best of the two epics as well as Babylon and Blade of Cain, and it would've been great.  less is more, in this case.  i do like starlight man too.

yeah, circus of brimestone tour would be awesome.  so much they could play from all their projects as well as bunch of tomas instrumentals etc.  how about a 10 min version of Room With a View as well as The RainmakerCool

I am not a big Fan of "Adam & Eve" - Except - Drivers Seat which is excellent and saves the game in the last 20 mins.
My Birthday CD list has reached 12 CD's - so I should be busy up to xmas - with only the Flokis new one for fathers day I reckon - then up to xmas - unless I get the urge to spend more money.

Yeah, Vampire's View is the only one that harks back to the more symphonic stuff from the early albums, IMO, while also featuring a suitably over the top vocal from Daniel.  Personally, I think it works wonderfully.  There is a live version on Carpe Diem with Roine and Hasse doing the vocals, but I think it's just not the same without Daniel's vocal.

Starlight Man makes me cringe, I'm afraid.  I think Roine does a nice job on vocals, but the cheese factor on that song it just way to high for me.

For me, tracks 1-5 on Adam & Eve are gold but after that it starts to decline.I am not a fan of Starlight Man or most of Timelines in particular.  I have really grown to like Days Gone By, even though it is just a short little piano tune.
Just give it all an hour by the concrete lake.

i've pretty much decided that if this album had been just Love Supreme, Babylon, and Driver's Seat, it would've been received much better.  that would make it album length and a lot easier to digest me thinks.  i just figure, if i can digest adam and eve, i'll be able to dig BoE pretty quicklySmile

Is Banks of Eden going to be their shortest album ever?

I saw that tour in London at The Boderline and they were supported by Magenta.

It was an absolutely superb evening and I chatted with Roine, Tomas and Jonas after the show as well Wink

I like Starlight Man.

Timelines is a bit of a mess but I love the bluesy interlude from 3:54 onwards.

Days Gone By is LOVELY!!

I love Timelines, despite the somewhat busy intro.  Great vibe during the verses, a very nice chorus, and Roine's solo is smoking.

Starlight Man's chorus is what kills it.  The lead guitar line and the verses are both great, but the chorus is so weak and ineffective, it kills the song.

As previously stated, the first half of Adam and Eve is quite good.  The second half, not so much.  I do like Timelines though.  Starlight Man bothers me.

Ok, Adam & Eve.

The first few minutes of Love Supreme are the most derivative of any TFK epic, however the second half of the piece is pure Flower Kings and is fantastic.  You'd do well to find a more gorgeous couplet than Cosmic Circus/Babylon.  I have to be in the mood for A Vampires View Embarrassed, but Days Gone By is stunning and echoes a similar piece from one of Tomas' solo albums though I struggle to recall the title of that.

The title track is great, but I love all the TFK "rockers" so no surprise there.  Timelines and Starlight Man are for me the weak points of the album, but still very decent.

Drivers Seat is amazing, end of story.  One of TFK's best epics without a doubt.

The album would get 4.5 stars for me.  And being me, I'd round up to 5.

Should I post this as an album review Tongue.

Ok, so I had to add a little bit to it and edit a little too, but the review is now posted (I don't usually do reviews).  And how about this, as a result of my review the overall rating of Adam & Eve has gone up from 3.48 to a lofty 3.50. Who says our opinions don't count eh?  Whoop whoop.

^ Too bad I consider A&E a 3 star effort, at best.  But hey, it's good to see a FK album go up in rating, instead of down Thumbs Up

All this Adam & Eve discussion is making me want to listen to it again. Maybe I'll make a review too.
