Well I can safely say that Universe Zero sound nothing like Krautrock, but were rather one of the most successful chamber rock acts coming out of Europe in the late 70s. Highly recommended though...

Another dark Kraut-agent.
Luckily I've got their "rare" compilation CD. |

^Hey Damo!
I really enjoyed that clip, thanks buddy Truth be told, I have been looking for this record a couple of times, but I never really got lucky. Perhaps it is time to investigate again - your review certainly suggests that I should

Yeah I have thought of that too John. Sometimes when musicians transcribe their abilities onto something out of the ordinary, sparks start flying and some of us gets goose bumps - and the following angry letters from the bank...

Something i enjoyed this morning was GILA's I Buried My Heart At Wounded Knee. For someone like myself who's not the biggest fan of concept albums i love this record. More of a POPOL VUH / GILA cross really with Florian and Daniel helping Conny out. Atually they've played together many times as POPOL VUH so... A very meaningful album for me.

Listened to GURU GURU's "Manni And Friend this morning which really is a Mani solo album with KRAAN helping out. And man it sounds more like KRAAN than GURU GURU. Great album. Lots of energy and of course Mani's amazing drum work. Too much fun.

Ash Ra Tempel Schwingungen Starring Rosi Seven Up I picked up the debut. Only my fourth Krautrock album, so we'll see how it goes! |

A while before, found another Kraut obscurity Mittelwinternacht '71.
Not recommended as an authentic Krautrock one but definitely a Kraut-ish noise ambient pioneer. |

^I've recently been taking an interest in your recent reviews as well. I hope I can get Electrip soon. Sounds really intersting! Also that Damenbart one was really cool. Hard to find at a good price though. I'll listen to this one here too.
What's with so many 1971 electronic krautrock albums having '71 at the end of the title? Or was it just those two albums? - I feel like I've seen that a bunch of other times.

^ Dunno but 1971 should be one of golden years for Krautrock or progressive rock itself, methinks.

Hey there Keishiro!
I've been digging your recent reviews as well. You are great with words my friend, and luckily so quite unique too. Not to burst any bubbles here, but along with Golem's Awaken, Pyramid's Dawn Defender and some others that I forget, Mittelwinternacht is thought of as one of those modern hoaxes that are recorded with ancient methods - to lure in people who jump at anything obscure from the 70s. Mind you, the music is still what it is, and some of these are actually pretty good. I especially recommend Pyramid's take on Krautrock, which quite beautifully incorporates some of the most entrancing atmospheres off A Saucerful of Secrets and make them into one heck of a 34 minutes psychedelic space track
