I think it is one of the best animated movies in the 80s but some also might dislike it, to me it is a straight 9/10, funny, mysterious, dark, imaginative, moving new ground in terms of film-making both as a feature film but also as a animated film. one of the first films to challange and rival and beat a Disney movie of same year, (thought the 80s were called the dark ages of Disney they still were strong contenders in the box office and this lower budged movie by a former Disney animator Don Bluth beat his formar workingplace)

also the soundtrack is as magical as the movie, i recomend it

It's great scifi is what it is. And a nice look into morality and the human condition. I'm not so much into the animation or film making aspects of this but I absolutley love the story. In fact if it was on the sci fi/fantasy poll I might have voted for it.
