Cinderalla Man is great! Madrigal is the weakest of the tracks, but i still like them all.

What I don't like is Illegal Alien on Genesis. Its the only track I've ever cut out of an album on my computer and MP3. When I recently reacquired Genesis I was listening when suddenly the Illegal Alien hit. I have to remember to remove it from the now playing list.

Dance of Eternity off of Dream Theater's Metropolis: Scenes from a Memory pt 2. I'm all for crazy but that should go down as the worst keyboard solo in the history of the universe. Both compositionally AND for his choice of synth voice. Don't get me wrong dissonance can be cool, and "playing only the bad notes" has its place...sometimes...but not here. Not on an otherwise great album. I realize lots of Dream Theater die-hards may question my decision to bring up this album, but I think its great.

I agree with moonchild. More Fool Me from SEBTP has always seem out of place, and to a lesser exstent After the Ordeal. Counting Out Time from TLLDOB, I mean, out of the blues Real thinks about when he tried to seduce his girlfriend? After all that's going on? That would be the LAST thing on my mind!

Cans and Brahams from Fragile anyone? I don't object the concept of including a classical solo piece (I am completely fine with Mood For a Day) but Wakeman is capable of higher quality... I don't know what was he thinking.... |
I think the entire Fragile album is kinda weird. I just think that a Yes album should have all songs with the whole band contributeing thier genius. Save the solo pieces for the solo albums.

Funny isn't it, they always threw in a little sh*t, as if to say we're not really great musicians making the most complex rock music on the planet, we're just like the rest. I never understood that. [/QUOTE]
well, after making such epic music they gotta be tierd out.

I thing the Cha Cha Cha is anything but cheesy! I love that part! It makes Sound Chaser even more exciting!

Quintessential Van Der Graaf Generator. The power and atmosphere of that track is brilliant.

I think "A Plague" and "Man-Erg" completely blow it away. Hammill probably put it on the album just to be obtuse!

simple? Solsbury Hill? Try counting it :D the genius of that song is that it sounds simple when it's not, and that there is a contrasting happiness and sadness going. Happy guitar, sad flute, which I think contrasts the lyrics well. The on-the-surface catchy beat contrasting the subtle complexity also fits the lyrics.
