Too many times I come across with phenomenal bands who releases amazing albums but doesn't have the right promotion and are not reviewed properly. Let's make this stage the place to promote albums or bands that did not get more than 10 reviews, but should be known as Dream Theater, Porcupine Tree or Opeth.
I have just wrote a review on the amazing band Dreadnaught - The American Standard and thought about all those bands that we are missing. What do you guys have?

I not sure if you would consider them obscure, but I really like the British band TesseracT. Great Prog Metal with Ambient influences. They just released their first full length last year
called One. Fans of Periphery and Meshuggah might like them.

KILLBOT ZERO because holy hell awesomeness. They have 4 albums out and only 1 is listed on the archives
BEFORE THE EYEWALL because its super good atmospheric doom but not on the archives
PSEUDO/SENTAI because my band is actually really good you just dont know it yet
THE SOUND OF ANIMALS FIGHTING because the ocean and the sun is awesome but their first EP is just as good
KOENJIHYAKKEI because damn. All that needs to be said
GOROD because Transcendence is one of the best Death Metal EPs I have ever heard
HANDS because their first release is on par with Genesis and the other prog greats
DORDEDUH because if you thought Negura Bunget wasn't as good as their album OM anymore, the main guys left to form this band because Negru is a douchebag

Pure Reason Revolution ? Oceansize? they are rated enough. I meant OBSCURE bands that have about 10 ratings and should be known better. Great other offers though, keep em' coming!! and post some samples it would help.

If based on the ratings and the reviews, I wonder if Laurie Anderson couldn't be "elected" (I'm going to check how many ratings she had).

I''d mention some of these band and mostly artist names (hope you don't mind) -- in no particular order:
Igor Wakhevitch is not that well known at PA. His early albums have more than ten ratings, but I think these later ones highly enjoyable too, and worthy of attention: 3.93 | 6 ratings Les Fous D'or 1974 3.57 | 5 ratings Let's Start 1979 Geinoh Yamashirogumi -- okay I see that Osorezan now has ten ratings, but that's the only album by the group with more than four. Most of the albums aren't really Prog though, so whatever... Non Credo -- great ""ävant"albums:
4.81 | 9 ratings Floating Opera 1997 Mashaiko Satoh and the Soundbreakers - great album, I think. 4.40 | 8 ratings Amalgamation (Kokotsu No Showa Genroku) 1971 Another great one from Japan: 4.02 | 4 ratings Yamataifu 1972 Bjorn J:son Lindh is one of my favourite discoveries of the last few years (thanks google!) and I think Fran Storstad... a remarkably good Eclectic album.
Yochk'o Seffer. The first three albums under his name are all really good. Surprised that Delire only has three ratings. The rest of his many albums are almost co pletely unknown, including by myself, according to the ratings
I think this a lovely album by Ralf Nowy, and I also think it underrated (no offence Rivertree who is the only one to review it): 2.32 | 6 ratings Lucifer's Dream 1973 Conrad Schnitzler: His most rated album has nine ratings. I don't have much by him, but love these: 4.56 | 4 ratings Zug 1973 4.65 | 8 ratings Ballet Statique 1978 A pretty recent addition to Prog Folk which I did suggest to PA for Prog Related a couple of years to Prog Related quite some time after Perry leopold's Christian Lucifer was recommended to me by a PA member and there was some discussion of it in a thread, but I am glad it's in Prog Folk (still haven't heard the first album): 0.00 | 0 ratings Experiment in Metaphysics 1970 0.00 | 0 ratings Christian Lucifer 1973 Codona isn't well known, but then sadly the whole Indo prog/ Raga Rock category gets neglected -- so much excellent music there that I find that a real shame. 4.46 | 8 ratings Codona 3 1983 This is a very good album: 4.05 | 9 ratings Regina Astris 1977 Another excllent album from the Indo Prog/ raga rock category: P, MC, SACD, DVD-A, Digital Media Download)
Art Zoyd is hardly obscure in RIO circles, but these excellent 90s releases have only 9 ratings apiece: 3.97 | 9 ratings Faust 1995 3.89 | 9 ratings Häxan 1997 In JRF, Eddie Henderson and Julian prister made two of my all-time favourite albums in PA: I really like all three of these Henderson albums, but Realiazation is one of my absolute favourites in JRF (a great Mwandishi work)
I love both of these Prister albums, but I love, love, love Love, Love: 4.05 | 9 ratings Love, Love 1973 3.05 | 2 ratings Polarization 1977 Taj-Mahal Travellers may be my favourite band included in the Psych category, along with Fifty Foot Hose whose remarkable cauldron only has 13 ratings, and this is a very fine album: 3.96 | 9 ratings July 15, 1972 1972 Some faves of mine in Crossover: The Advancementmade one, I think, great album. 3.14 | 3 ratings The Advancement 1969 I love these David Axelrod albums (including the imo underrated Earth Rot):
Sorry if I went a bit overboard with this post. I'll stop there, and sorry that so many are artist rather than band names names, but in my collection I have many more albums that are artists rather than band names. One could argue how important some of these are to Prog, or how Prog they are, but I just really enjoy all of these and wish they were better known. Perhaps you wanted to focus on modern names considering your examples, and I could think of a lot of modern RIO/Avant ones that I think deserve more attention. I don't listen to Porcupine Tree, Opeth, or Dream Theater (not my cups of tea). |

Wow, judging by that, an album included in the Prog Metal category that I actually might really like (which is rare from my experience, which is admittedly rather too limited). |
