Wow, honestly  I am really touched. What a race of Sergio Pérez, he earned a well-deserved second place!!!!
Congrats to him and of course, congrats to Fernando for keeping the first place.

ALONSOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Big smile

This was all McLaren's to win but a few too many bullets to the foot. Pit stops, a stall, a wreck...they all contributed to the muck up.

f**k yeah Fernando!
Epic drive for PerezClap Helluva race.

Great result for Kimi and Senna.
Also for rookie Jean-Eric Vergne sneaking some points.

As for the not so good: Mercedes starts hot again but doesn't quite translate, obviously a bad day for Vettel and Button.
I can safely say my hate target is MassaLOL Bum needs to be tossed out of there!

Crazy race, and so worth it.

Excellent race (I listened on the radio; a weird experience!) and well done Perez!

Meh to Alonso. Tongue

Perez could have won that.

They say Perez is being lined up to replace Massa.  If I was him, I'd stay where he is.  The Sauber is a better car. Wink

Poor Jens.  He clipped Karthakayan (sp.).  Seems Vettel did as well (hahahahahahaha).

With all the epicness I didn't even notice Hami and Webber. Good race of course, especially for Hami who's having a strong start.

I actually feel a bit bad for Maldonado. I liked to make fun of him but he's proving to have some drive...just not luck!
Though last week was his fault but still.

Can't say enough this season is gunna be sick. After McLaren the whole field is just tight...and even McLaren can't afford to make any mistakes. Awesome.
deff worth staying up till 7 am buuuuuuuuuuuuut that's a night.

If someone had told me yesterday that Alonso and Perez were going to be the ones to fight it out for this race I would have had them sectioned, talk about crazy. Perez is already on the Ferrari young driver program, if Massa doesnt improve, and fast, I can see Sauber having a fight on their hands to keep him for the end of the season.

Excellent race from Senna sinc he lost the front wing on the opening lap. He's now scored more points than Williams did all of last year. Good race from Raikkonen as well, funny to see how disappointed he was with 5th afterwards, I think he's after podiums from here on out.

Wasnt impressed with Vettels attitude after the race, blaming Karthikayen for the puncture when it was his own fault for cutting across him.

Alonso leads the championship from Hamilton now.

While I'm savoring this and the fact Alonso leads the points, I am of course aware this was a rain race....and that excpt for future rain races, or maybe Monaco, I don't forsee any more wins (unless this new chassis is drastically improved)

I hope you're right, I've given up on Massa...Ferrari may not the best right now but your teammate wins and you manage 15th?

How sad is that for Williams? I remember when they used to be good...in the Montoya daysLOL Certainly they have shown to be a consistent point runner thus far. This is great, the only real bad teams are Catherham, HRT, and Marussia.

I used to hate Williams back in the day.  I kind of appreciate them a bit more now.

And yep, Ferrari, unless by some miracle, won't win another race this season.  They're just not competitive.  Perez was catching him and their tires weren't that much different.

^Your new name caught me by surprise James, I was wondering who the hell VanderGraafKommandoh was!

I wouldnt count out Ferrari's chances of winning more races just yet, they're planning what amounts to a complete redisign of the car for the Spanish GP in May, to the point where it will need to go through the crash tests again.

Is that allowed?

Expect to also see many teams incorporating Mercedes' DRS by Barcelona as well.

It certainly is. As for the Mercedes DRS, I'm not too sure, it might require a change to the monocoque for the vents to get the airflow to he front wing, which would probably mean putting it through crash tests again, which means its more likely to be seen next year.

So you can redesign the car and undergo crash tests during a season?  Doesn't sound fair to me!

Teams have always been allowed to introduce new cars mid way through the season, though the last top team to do that was McLaren with the MP4-18, which actually turned out to be so bad it never raced anyway, and the MP4-19/19B. Minardi did it in 2005, they raced a poorly modified car for the flyaway races and then launched the new one.

Generally teams only do this if they're very late, or their original car sucks big time but its always been around and until the mid 90's used to be common place.

I believe in Ferrari's case it'll be needing new side impact tests on the sidepods as it sounds like they are going to be very heavily revised, so its just one or two crash tests rather than all 17/18.

Oh James don't even turn into some Ferrari are cheats bullsh*t...if you never knew that I'm kind of surprised.
Your fellow Brit says it's totally allowed so you know it's not just me being me!

I was thinking Ferrari (well Alonso) could win again on one of the street circuits but if they are planning an overhaul we shall see. Really something how they fell so far off anyway.
Edit: Yes that name is certainly..somethingLOL

Perez gained a new fan, Sauber not so much.
Leave the driver to drive.

And to annoy James:

My problem with Sauber in the race is that they were too cautious, it lost them too much time, but they are in finacial difficulty so I can see why they would ask Perez to make sure he brought it home as that second place will help them secure some backing.

aaaawwwwwwww yeah
I finally hit on it, I forgot Alonso was on McLaren that one year and there was that bad blood between.
Get the f**k over it JamesWink
This is also why we have #1 and #2  it's tough to have two number ones on the team...though Hami and Button have managed without killing each other thus far. Thus far...

I liked Perez last year, flashed some skill but this year the car seems to have improved.

It's nothing to do with that.  I just don't like him.

Ah well.

I was never keen on him all that much and then there was the Piquet, Jr. thing and that just confirmed things for me.

You keep bringing up the Singapor race James but its well known that Alonso never actually had any knowledge of the conspiracy, it was down to Briatore, Piquet and Symmonds.
