It's weird, one of those things that you can't help but take personally. I was just surprised at how it manifested between us. So I shared it and so it is.

So anyway, my girlfriend made me go see the Hunger Games with her. It actually has a nice little dystopian, totalitarian central government current going through it.

I endured the same on Saturday and was pleasantly surprised. They should've painted a little more of the situation in the movie though. My girlfriend explained to me all about the hunger games and how people got their names in the urns and about the oppressive nature of them more than the movie did. It was probably the only really big flaw in an otherwise nice entertaining movie.

It's unfortunate, but they're marketing to a certain audience. It's supposed to be a movie for adolescents. Thus the big push to diminish the violence and earn a PG-13 rating. A rich story of political strife and abuse kind of takes a backseat to, "Omg Pita's so cute and he'll die for her." I also surprisingly enjoyed it. I'm now being forced to read the books.

I'm not sure I understand, nor am I sure I really care to correct this. But I don't see how you could take offense to someone telling you that we should keep race as a non-issue.

I don't take offense at that but that is the way it is. You can ignore it but it doesn't go away. It isn't a correctable thing.

If it's not correctable, then why get upset about it? And why get upset when someone is offering a correction?

I am not a worshiper but am extending an invitation for the for one of you tiny minded twerps to say at least one thing positive you can say about Obama and/or his administration. I know it may be a bit difficult for any of you to come up with something backhandedly complimentary. Go ahead. Make my day.

He hasn't invaded Iran yet. I can't think of anything. He gave a tax credit to people who bough Hybrid cars right? That's good. I don't know. I'm sure there's a few more things. I'm hesitant to say ending DADT is a good thing. I would prefer it if everybody were banned from the military. As a pure freedom of action thing, I'll call it good. I'm open to suggestions. It doesn't matter though. His signing of the NDAA trumps any gone he's done by far. And there's still a whole host of other terrible things he's done.

His point is silly, anyway. It just further reinforces his inability to get past party politics. He ignores the fact that we rip into republicans constantly chosing instead to focus on how much we criticize someone who is basically George W Bush on steroids with a D next to his name.

What do you mean by "has come"? Ron Paul by running as a republican has obviously moved past party politics. There is only one guy who has successfully run as an independent and that guy is Bernie Sanders. He would describe his political slant as democratic socialist. That's where I am at, too. Shame you guys are too thick headed to get it.

Maybe it's because all you do is bash republicans while your criticism of democrats is tepid, at best, and more honestly non-existent (as you're going to line up and vote that way, anyway). Why on earth would you so forcefully desire one of us to say something nice about Obama? You shouldn't like him anymore than any of us do.
