Both count for Prog polls since they're both listed in Prog categories, though one is more Prog, of course. Still I thought about doing this in General Music Discussions.
Of course Rush's will win by a landslide, and I'm probably one of the very few people at PA who loves the ELO/Newton-John Xanadu.
I like both, and Rush will always hold huge nostalgic value due to its importance in my teens, but I like the Newton-John one more. And she's cuter than Geddy Lee too, in my humble opinion.

Rush. No contest. As soon as I heard the Olivia Newton John/ELO version, I thought, "Oh boy, this is gonna be cheesy". I dunno, I guess I prefer depressing songs over pop.
@ Logan: BTW where'd you get your avatar? It's funny.

Too weird lol It's like comparing apples and oranges. I'll take the oranges; ELO's Xanadu a great pop song. Sometimes I prefer great pop over prog, depends on my mood

Must I choose? Rush.
Dig me...But don't...Bury me I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect.
Xanadu by RUSH. No contest at all. Olivia Newton John's Xanadu = . Sorry, not my cup of tea. Though, I do agree she is cuter than Geddy.
I fully agree with this.

Even Just for Fun would be a good option, I think...

I am a big fan of horror movies and just recently saw Ju-on:The Grudge for the first time. This clip is the scariest thing I have ever seen.

I hope I am not blowing my own trumpet too hard but this is one of those happy coincidences where I pulled together a cheap morphing program an two downloaded images. But the rhythm of program's morph algorithm works well with Rush's song.

The creepiest part is when ONJ's face morphs into Geddy's. Yikes!

I like cheesy sometimes. I find it great fun. My family (wife and yound children) do dance sometimes for exercise. I'm very silly. Usually I hook up my laptop to the TV and plays youtube vids. Xanadu is one I like to play for some reason that I know the rest of my family will not only tolerate, but enjoy (usually I'd choose funk, or Italian disco, for such stuff, if it was up to me, but I like a lot of disco and pop from that period). It's not something I play with headphones, but it's something I can enjoy with my family, unlike most of the music I listen to, and doesn't grate on me like, say, Celine Dion. My wife was displeased when I chose Shub-Niggurath for the dancercise session.
As for the avatar, it's off google images. My kids are both huge Zelda fans, and my daughter chose it for me. I was very happy with the choice.

I was expecting it -- would have been surprised had you not posted it. Nice to see it again, though again and again and again is a little excessive, perhaps. :p (course I don't mind)

True. I must admit that I did consider that. Of course it's mostly for fun, but I wanted to avoid a potential movement to another forum. It's more fun to have it here since that Xanadu song is not something one would generally expect in a prog poll.
