Never thought they would pull off a first person shooter in a universe populated only by hats, but I stand corrected. 10/10.

but Team Fortress is broken. Still fun, though.

Boat level in HL2 was the worst, the worst.

That is the most likely candidate, actually. Because the game shipped with this ending, they'll almost certainly want to stick with it, instead just working everything else out so it doesn't seem so damn stupid. They can do a lot to help things that way, though they're always going to be saddled with some issues that will still leave a lot of people displeased.

The story with Shepard is done with (within this series, not with the game, as there is DLC planned).  Mass Effect as a setting is not.

It's pretty hard to make a sequel with the endings they've given. The disparity is too great. If they do, it'll be a very different game than the previous ones anyway. But you know, I learned something today. That stinger voiced by Buzz Aldrin? It's 10,000 years into the future according to the game files. Holawd...

Well, it's pretty clear at this point that the indoctrination theory is wrong, so I'm glad we agree. Wink

There have been gay romances in BioWare games for a decade.

I still don't see how that is a bad thing. In terms of ways to air your grievances, that is incredibly civil and productive.

Haha, that's not the first retconned ending, you know. Big smile

Uh, which ones have you played? I do not see how you could not think that MDK2 and BG2 are damn fine games.

Mass Effect (the first game) is far better than KotOR (the first game).  I cannot get into KotOR that much.  Mass Effect is keeping me far more enthralled.

BG II is their epic and not even Mass Effect has surpassed it.

I won't mention Black Isle games (even though I kind of consider them BioWare games in style and quality).

Why are you anti-Indoctrination Theory, Gamemako?  Just curious.

The clues in the game seem to fit pretty well.

I didn't know old Buzz' scene was supposed to be 10,000 years after the events of Mass Effect 3.  Interesting!  It seems if that is true, then technologically everything has stopped in regards to Space Travel.

If you've read Dr. Greg Muzyka's blog message from yesterday, you'll know he also mentions future Mass Effect games are planned.  So it's not the end of the series.

Also, Jennifer Merizan (before she got an accidental death threat) was helping the community out a lot with her tweets.  I haven't read them all as I'm not on Twitter but she did say the Mass Relays are not destroyed.

I have never even heard of MDK2 before now.  Never liked the BG (or NWN for that matter) games

Well you should do.  At least the Baldur's Gate series.  They're superior to Knights of the Old Republic.  Neverwinter Nights I can understand though you not liking.

I played the demo of the first MDK (Murder, Death, Kill, not Mekanik Destruktiw Kommandoh) once and didn't like it much.  I've not played MDK2 though.

Finally got Bioshock (I know, I'm behind the times) and it is absolutely fantastic.  The gameplay, the Ayn Rand parody, the deconstruction of linear narrative, everything.  Would you kindly admit that it's one of the best shooters of the decade?

And yeah, the boat level in HL2 was way too long and annoying, especially since the game only really gets awesome once you're past it.

I'm still waiting for my goddamn copy of Arkham City, which is nearly a week late. I should play Dead Space 2, though. I haven't even opened it. Alas, I'm sucked into something else...

I loved Bioshock. The sequel was great, but it didn't really tread any new ground.

The final boss of Bioshock was pretty anticlimactic though, although the endings were pretty good.  I'll be ordering Bioshock 2 from Amazon, so hopefully that'll come soon.

Arkham City is a great game, lots of fun.  The DLCs are actually quite good as well, although I'd only buy them if you've finished the main game but aren't quite done playing.

Eh. I don't know what it is with modern games, but the stories (and endings especially) for most of the games I've played are just horrifically lazy and awful. Even my most happily non-disappointing Deus Ex: Human Revolution had a phone-it-in voice over slide show ending. What the f**k? I don't know why developers can't come up with endings I like. It's either either space-marine-staring-off-into-the-wreckage/invasion-of-Earth (every first person shooter including the ones I like from the past 10 years) or a lame FMV sequence. Nothing really inspiring. Last game ending that really, really blew me away was Snake Eater.

The actual gameplay of Bioshock was meh, I don't think I ever completed it. Andrew Ryan is awesome though.

Austin and I just started playing League of Legends. If you do sign up use my link so I get IP http://signup.leagueoflegends.com/?ref=4f6c746ac48fd615405840 :V

Heh, PA breaks the link, I guess the signup trips the spam filter.

I don't know, I liked the gameplay.  There was a fair amount of room to be creative, setting people of fire and electrocuting them when they jump into water, breaking frozen enemies, enraging groups, hacking bots, etc.  Plus, you know, shooting bees at people is pretty awesome.
