OK, my mind has just gone through Talking Heads' 'Stay Hungry' and 'Heaven', Nick Drake's 'Hazey Jane I', and 'The Musical Box' in a matter of 10 min. Right now it's (again):

Today at work:

And the man from the magazine, wants another shot of you all curled up
'Cos you look like an actor in a movie shot.
But you're feeling like a wino in a parking lot
How did I get in here anyway?
Do we really need a playback of the show?
'Cos the wideboys want to head for the watering holes

Let's go

And the man in the mirror has sad eyes

And then straight into:

I am - you are - we are - Crazy!

What?!

'I Will' and 'I Talk to the Wind' are certainly songs that could get stuck inside your head. I wonder if anyone had Gentle Giant or Camel stuck inside their heads, 'cause for me these bands are hard to take so far.

I didn't really like this song, but today God or Satan has turned it around for me:

I have. Just recently I had 'The Runaway' going around my head for a few hours. But then again I am a major GG fanboy and know most of their albums inside out.

Could you please tell me what GG's music is all about? Wacko

When I think Gentle Giant, I think "counterpoint", that is, juxtaposing melodic lines going in different directions but harmonically fitting together.  It can be hard to swallow, as sometimes the complexity is so distracting that the songs can sound like a mess, or they can sound like they're trying to hard to be complex.  But it can be very rewarding if you acquire the taste for it, and they're deservedly considered one of the "elite" prog bands.

That's one of my favorite Talking Heads songs.  I remember listening to that song several times in a row when I first discovered it as a kid.

^ Yeah that. I'll admit I hated GG when I first heard them and it took a good year for me to finally appreciate the first album I bought of theirs ('Octopus') and 'In A Glass House' took me a long while to enjoy but I find once I listen to it enough and become familiar with all it's quirks I find it very enjoyable.

I'm still working on "Glass House" myself.  It was the last one I acquired, so it's not as well established in my head yet.  I think "Three Friends" was the first one I ever got, and I only liked about half of it at first.
