I was ready to say I'm not big on Monty Python's Flying Circus, but two of the last three episodes I've watched were terrific.

What season are you watching?

I'm thinking more and more that Monty Python's Flying Circus is my favourite comedy series of all time. But the fourth season is pretty bad.

Just opened season two.

That might be my favourite of the first three. They started to run a bit out of steam towards the end of the third, but apart from a few sub-par bits (I never liked the bicycle episode) it was all pure gold until Cleese left.

Unless you're referring to the modern painters' cycling race, I don't remember any (memorable) bicycle sketch.
You don't because it's not good. Or you haven't seen it yet. It's an entire episode of Michael Palin cycling on and getting into less and less funny situations. And then they took the episode-long sketch to new lows on the fourth season, avoid those.
The painter race is one of the best absolutely brilliant Bowdown

So wait, Cleese doesn't stick around till the end? Boo.

Yeah, it is as sad as it sounds. Can't remember the exact reason, even though I read their autobiography last summer. I guess he wanted to do the Fawlty Towers at that point instead of the same old same old. For me the Flying Circus ends when he left. There was about two funny things on the fourth series. Thankfully he came back for the movies, they're mostly wonderful.

Well, it was catching of And Now from Something Different on TV that made me check further. Initially I was going to simply watch the whole movies, but since it's a compilation of sketches I said why not go to the series.

Oh, speaking of, I like them using manequins to throw off buildings, cliffs, etc.. LOL

A while ago I also saw around an act and a half from Meaning of Life.

I think I've only watched The Meaning of Life once, that's the only movie I didn't like that much. Should perhaps give it another chance, I've got it here just like everything else.

I was really surprised to read from the autobiography (if you end up worshipping them, it's worth a read) that the rest of the group were very proud of the fourth series.

People should just not pay attention to or report any of the WBC efforts at all and maybe they'd go away.

I am excited for this ... from my favorite local record store's facebook page:

Quote For everyone who has been waiting... you may have heard that CBC made a countrywide decision to go digital and will not be keeping their physical LP and CD libraries. We are super excited to announce that we purchased the entire Calgary CBC library...approximately 27,000 LPs and 35,000 CDs!!! We want you to know that CBC will be distributing the proceeds from this purchase between two organizations that they support. We are still packing up this awesome collection and will be releasing more details in the weeks to come so stay tuned :)

Pitchfork and they did the same on the 15th.

Anyway, I dunno what's WBC's problem, but I really couldn't ever get even my baptist best friend into good music.

That is definitely the most random protest of theirs I've heard of though. I guess they weren't getting enough press and there weren't any dead soldiers nearby.

What is this all about?  Classical music performances?  Or live performance on CBC by Canadian bands?
