Indeed that's quiet a shock... perhaps I remember wrong, but Miguel Bosé for me is just crap pop. Of course, I've never given him much of a chance, and have never been a fan of listening to radio, so I haven't had so much to listen from him. Phil Manzanera produced the second album from spain's rock group "Héroes del Silencio", which is a band I like much more than Miguel Bosé (even though they are certainly very far from prog). |

I don't know about that, but as far as I know, Tonny Iomi played with Jethro Tull (it might already have been mentioned in this thread) before Martin Barre joined the group. I don't think there is any recording of them together though. |

Now that you mention it, I may have read something about it some time ago, though aparently I didn't pay much attention... wonder if there is anything interesting there, or just a mere curiosity. Or, at least, if the Rolling Stones material is good... as a matter of fact, I know very little about The Rolling Stones, and perhaps should have a good compilation about them... the few things I know about them are "Satisfaction", Guns n'roses version of "Simpathy for the Devil", Rick Wakeman's version of "Paint it Black"... oh, and a song called "Memory Motel", as far as I know, it's not in any way important in their discography, but I remember liking it very much.

OK, I didn't really remember the first post of this thread, so that confused me. Perhaps it would have been better if you had quoted that post. However, the thing is Peter Banks was in Yes (or at least I think he was, but I haven't checked the dates) when he was offered to enter Genesis by Peter Gabriel, so I guess he didn't want to leave a band that was making more money for another that was making less money. Still, I guess Banks must have regreted not accepting the offer once he was kicked out of Yes. And I guess I still prefer Steve Howe on Yes, and Steve Hackett on Genesis over Peter Banks in any of both bands. On the other hand, it would have been curious to have Peter Gabriel, Peter Banks, and Tony Banks all in the same band.

Perhaps you should read the previous posts the that one, so you can understand the context of such a possibility of a Yes line-up. Though I guess that post was somewhat a joke from "thehallway". By the way, Chris Squire and Alan White had started working with Jimmy Page and Robert Plant for a joint project in the 80's... so that may have become Yes too, but in the end that project didn't happen, and we ended up getting the Trevor Rabin line-up. Still, surely this fact has already been posted on this thread. |
