Star Wars in '77. When they blew up that Death Star, that 3 and a half year old brat was really impressed. Probably my earliest memory.

LOL  this is turning into a fun thread; anybody remember Drive In ?   A bad 70s cult flick which of course was shown frequently at, yes, drive-ins

Why is that a counter-intuitive idea? I use one every weekend. It's pretty great.

Could be worse I guess...

I bet it was a teen comedy with kids screwing their girlfriends in the back seat, while a serial killer was lurking in the carsLOL??

let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter
keep our sand-castle virtues
content to be a doer
as well as a thinker,
prefer lifting our pen
rather than un-sheath our sword

Oh I think we have much more egregious examples of American decadence than drive-in movies, my friend.  This is a related one I find particularly appalling (drive-in churches).  Almost as bad as drive-in liquor stores, which are about as counter-intuitive an idea as any I've ever seen.

ROTFLMAO... Amazing and utterly ubuesqueLOLLOLLOLLOL

Well, I wouldn't dare starting it.... I'd instantly get the Tea Party's KKK followers on my case, since I'm not a United Statian...

Exactly right, except instead of a serial killer it was just some bully with a switchblade, and I do believe the film established the concept of a "rocking van" being something to generally avoid.
