I have my drum set miked and ProTools. Plus guitar and bass and keyboards. Let's collab and make music.
Note for inexperienced: the Music does not necessarily have to be good in any way. Saxes welcome Violins can go to hell. (not really). This is not like a serious thing or anything, but if you play an instrument and have the ability to record, I'd love to just have fun with things.

Any particular style of thing you are looking for?
I'm generally too lazy to come up with stuff, but if you give me something I could play it (say, a chord progression or whatever) Failing that I will just make a lot of racket with no structure whatsoever Edited by Triceratopsoil - February 19 2012 at 18:55 |

I'm fine with doing whatever. Free form might be interesting....wouldn't really feel inclined to edit and it would be about as organic as online recording can be.
Just do whatever you want and send it along. I'll add in bits and see what happens.

Could be fun, but whenever I attempt to record my improv it kind of falls flat.
What I could contribute are electric guitar effects doodling, synth doodling, acoustic guitar doodling, and recently I've done some decent percussion on a sequencer doodling. |

I'm actually just started a little EP length project of post-metal with jazz inclinations...I might post the first sketch later today.
If one of you percussion type people would like to record a 3-4 minute rhythm bed based on an emotion. (I already did "Rage"), I would then use that and build from there.
Ideas are "Shame / Regret," "Lust," "Empathy"
If anyone is interested.

You are quite a fine person, and I am very fond of you. But you are only quite a little fellow, in a wide world, after all.

I don't have any professional recording equipment... but, keeping in mind that "the Music does not necessarily have to be good in any way", I can contribute some poorly recorded distorted piano (yep... Mike Oldfield style!) noodling (I taught myself to improvise).

Yup yup yup. Very interested. I dunno if you'll be satisfied with my interpretation, but if you could forward me that track in its highest fidelity with some composition notes for percussion, I'd be happy to track some stuff. Probably only drums set now, though. My Kontakt is all wonky and I don't know how to fix it yet.

This is a bluesier sketch, a little more straightforward. Needs drums and maybe a lead element. Excuse the indulgent tapping cadenza in the bridge position.

I could perhaps try laying some drums on this when I'm done with my own stuff.

That would be very cool. I'm putting in a little Steve Hackett-y volume pedal lead over this right now, and then I'll leave it be for awhile and move on. This project is meant to be encapsulated and not over-thought. I used to do these kinds of things all the time but I ended up getting obsessed with fixing things and fine tuning and end up losing my fire for the process.
I'll simply replace the mp3 online when I finish the lead part, hopefully in the next few days. Then on to the next one.
