Prussia at its peak was huge.

However, I don't believe this country was a part of Prussia.  I'll check though.

I suspect that you misunderstood one of my questions. When I asked about the Baltic countries, I meant Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Did he come from one of those?

Ref, I'm not sure which question you're referring to but you said Poland.  I didn't see you mention anything about those 3 countries.

Maybe you didn’t see it. Anyway, Lithuania it is. A scientist?

Yes, but normally we mean those three countries when we talk about the Baltic countries or states, and I thought your answer ruled them out and that we were left with Poland and Germany. Never mind, was he born in 1800 or later?

Nope, before 1800.

I was deliberately being obtuse, don't worry about it. LOL

I guess you could call him royal in the same way Russian royalty can be called royalty.

If that makes sense?

If you mean was he a didysis kunigaikštis, then yes he was.

We are talking pre-Jagiellon though.

Lithuania only ever had one king, and if it was him it is Mindaugas.

It was not Mindaugas.

I said above the guy we're looking for was a Grand Duke as, as you say, there was only one king of Lithuania

However, this guy was called by the latin Rex, despite being a Grand Duke..
