Really an emotional project despite being what many would call immature. It's a truly human statement this guys makes in his songs.

Considering I never did listen to it, then yes.

Hold your fire
Keep it burning bright
Hold the flame 'till the dream ignites

Kevin Ayers - "Sweet Deceiver"

One of my very favorite Ayers albums.  Elton John gives an inspired performance as guest piano player on most of the tracks..  And Ollie Halsall is a great guitar player who comes up with some really nice, restrained solos.  This album may be Kevin's most consistent.  Most of his other early albums, while arguably more exciting, go a little overboard with experimentation, giving some of the cuts a "huh?" feel.  This one's pretty straight all the way through, but the songs are outstanding.

You are quite a fine person, and I am very fond of you. But you are only quite a little fellow, in a wide world, after all.
