If we're talking RPI for the soul - then I´ll take DALTON any day. Not because it´s meditative or anything like that, but because I once started my musical journey with those late 60s recordings - and this one sure has that feel to it. I love the flute, the organs, those analogue synths, the heartfelt vocals and the sub par production of it all. And yes, this is one of those under the 30 minute mark - and I kind of like it that wayHeart
I have to get some sleep now. Sleep tight my fellow mafiosos!

I do believe the strongest feature of RPI is its soulfulness.I don't know if it is because of flute, Italian language, clean and simple rhythms, ...anyway the music is beautiful.

I share the love for DALTON, their debut is one of those albums that has a sixties vibe for sure. And maybe not so surprising since these guys were making music in the sixties before disbanding then reforming again to create this amazing release in 1973.

LAURINI LUCIANO : UNO COME TANTI ALTRI ( 1973) LP.

Not a masterpiece for sure, but certainly a piece for the master of the universe. Religious folk most of the time, with nice flutes and choirs.

Yes, Triple P.  Strange how italian christian music sounds so well.  Do you know J.E.T ? And this very rare one : Quel giorno di uve rosse ? Not BAD at all ! Wink

PA has a well-written bio about J.E.M, and in addition to it this Album is a good classic symphonic prog.

Quel giorno di uve rosse had me think that, do most of these religious Italian bands use soft rhythm?.
Actually I think this kinda music has another musical history behind it, IMO they just happen to be in 70s and similar to what we call Prog now, and has an independent background.

I'm not a religious guy in any kind of it, but as I liked fairy tales in my childhood also now I sometimes like supernatural themes in songs which has its own mood.

I'm not a religious guy too, but the most beautiful music often comes from the faith of the musician. RPI has always be close to Bach and Vivaldi, even in its most profane songs.

UT : HOMO ( 1974)

First album of this roman band. Nice mix of pop and symphonic prog. (Vinyl only, I think)

GIANII D'ALLAGLIO : SERA MATINA ( 1972)

First and only album by this musician of Lucio Battisti, Alberto Radius and Il Volo. Reissued in CD by Mellow in the nineties. Very hard to find.
