Oh yeah.
I thought it was great to see some actually defense. They can cover, the LBs play great, unlike the Saints who just throw the entire team at you. Granted, I love seeing that but it is of course just a way to cover weakness.

On that note, there was some pretty heavy pressure and I thought Alex Smith stood up well, in fact he played a really great game. I said I'd rather take him since he's not yet proven to be more than a solid game manager but..idk now. Shades of old Eli in how he seems to step up when needed.

If only Schaub hadn't have gotten hurt.  *sigh*
Well, I guess the Cheatriots are going to be AFC Champs, either way, anyway

And there's centerfielder Ed Reed wrapping up a sh*tty game between a couple sub-par teams.

Couldn't imagine a worse championship matchup.  Go NFC!

It was an ugly win but I'll take it any way we can get it.No penalties or turnovers during the game though.

Missed it....my friend doesn't like football so I didn't subject him.
Sounds like it was an ugly win, or squeeker of a win. Either way, that's a W.
Hope they can beat the Pats but my confidence is getting lower.

I will subject him to the G men though.
Cmon Giants! Pull 2007 out of your ass!
At the very least make it a good game.

The AFC championship game is going to suck. I'm sick of seeing the patriots dominate teams. Let's just skip to the superbowl after Green Bay beats the Giants.

You know, I don't think we've ever agreed this much in this particular thread.

Yep. Mistake-free football. When you're +4 in turnovers and lose 0 yards to penalties, it's hard to lose. Still, I don't like Baltimore's chances down the road.
Hail Eris!

Hakeem Nicks!
And hope G men abandon the run on every first 2 downs.
I know Eli is captain clutch and seems to complete every third down but sheesh this is giving me a heart attack.

Good start from the Giants. Just play a good game, and the refs better give us this damn fumble!

edit: Of course. Man...this is like the 07 Pats again. Tough to play the Packers AND the refs. Whatever.

Wow!! Nice work NYG.......damn Saints!!!!!! My earlier predictions would have worked out perfectly had the Saints not turned the ball over 5x.
NYG in the Superdome..........damn!!

Ohh well...great stuff in the NFC..........but I still think I am pulling for the Ravens, my 10 yrs in Maryland are coming out of me right now.

What. The. f**k.

NEW YORK GIANTS

15-1 Packers, in their home, the unstoppable Rodgers offense...they got 14 of their points from bull sh*t calls.
f**k the Packers!

Bring it Niners.

You're out.  Sorry to have to inform you but you are no longer welcome in Steelers' Nation .

As for the Slackers/Midgets game:
When will teams learn that the bye week is when you rest your players, not the week leading into it?  Completely throws off a team to take two weeks off.

I don't wanna hear that sh*t. People need to quit giving excuses, Rodgers is too good for that and I thought he played fine.
The pressure was good and coverage was better. If he wasn't a scrambler that game would've a complete blowout.

The Giants earned this win, as did the Niners.
I'm so glad these no defense all offense teams have been put out of their shame. We just need to hope the Ravens can now end the Pats.

What a dominating effort.  Congrats to the Giants, they certainly earned it.

Brian, I know the Giants D has been great lately, but they were 28th in the league for the season (using the yds/game metric), ahead of only the "no defense teams" you mentioned.
