You got him, James. He was most famous for his lithographs. He illustrated Poe, E.T.A. Hoffmann and Dostoyevsky, and he wrote short stories and one novel, "Die andere Seite" ("The other Side"), which I highly recommend to all lovers of fantastic novels. Of course he illustrated his novel too. |

Not sure where his parents were from but presume they were from the same country as his birth.
