No, not poetry. And writing books was only one of the things he is famous for. And his writings usually fell into a specific kind of literature..

Hint about the other thing he is famous for: There is a natural phenomenon named after him.

I think both someone_else and desistindo missed a go recently, so I’ll leave it to one of them to come up with the answer. Btw Wiki says he was the 17th child, but maybe there was a stillborn they don’t count?
