Eric Blackwood and Pete Trewavas have really created a concept masterpiece here about a guy losing his mind as a result of alien abduction.  There are many musical influences on the album and it really pulls you in different directions with hints of Floyd, Porcupine Tree and even Led Zep too!!   Pete doing everything apart from base in one way shape or form here - his voice is really good and it is a shame he is not doing more active vocals for Marillion now and again I think.
I was really not sure what to expect from this as an experience, but for me it trumps over Transatlantic easily.  Pete only needs one side hobby now and that is getting this thing on the road and making more amazing albums with Eric.

Basically - if you aint got it - then go get it, and if you have got it then tell everyone else how bloody good it is  :)

I"m trying man... i'm trying! ... all of Marillion appears on this... ALL OF THEM. Yet none of the Marillion people want to hear about it. It's like I don't know... did they all get turned off by the complexities of the Transatlantic thing? This is definitely not transatlantic (well.. .other other dimension maybe ..) but this is like floyd meets porcupine tree... that's what I got. but you're right progger... i do see the zep thing in Outerspaced.

Very cool... thanks for making me not the only one to rave about this new album....

Downloaded entire album off of Racket Records and Pre-Ordered the CD.

They are saying that the CD has a 20 page booklet with lyrics and liner notes that I really want to see.

Can't wait for the new Marillion album, and now I won't have to because all of Marillion is on this record... so it's like getting a new Marillion album before the new Marillion album!

So different from Pete's other stuff... more ethereal and dark and haunting ... far more pink floyd like to me than some of the other real proggy stuff.

The new Marillion Project "Edison's Children" was officially released today.

The new CD "In The Last Waking Moments..."

began shipment over the weekend and is already on ITunes and Amazon. It has been available for download on Racket Records since November 18th, but the Physical CD which features a 20 page lyric booklet filled with the most bizarre and amazing artwork is no longer on pre-order but officially for sale!

There are a few threads featuring this band now, but I can (again) thoroughly recommend this wonderful album.

The band have been cleared for addition to PA, and I have e-mailed Eric for a bio.

Thanks Olav for adding the bio, which might be subject to amendment pending a response from the band to some questions I posed to them earlier today.

Killer read on your review of this record Lazland and the way you went over each song and offered insight was great and I found out so much information from the interview that I didn't know... makes me love this band even more. Thanks from all the E.C. fanatics!

The band website has a promotional video, which is fantastic, and Prog Archives is quoted extensively.

My first two listens have been enjoyable enough, but it will still need to grow on me.  It is enjoyable enough, but nothing really distinguishes it for me from the other new releases from this year.  The one thought that kept crossing my mind this morning though was that this is what Pink Floyd would sound like today if Pink Floyd were still actively creating music.  Not sure if that is a good or a bad thing, but it is a thing. Big smile

Keep at it Scott. It is definitely a grower, and then hits you.

Thank you for mentioning Spotify.  I'm listening to it right now.
