I could just about vote for Buddy.  I'm sticking with my RPS prediction which is totally safe as I have no money riding on it anyway.

With 42% in, it seems Paul will end up third. Santorum will take Iowa, it would seem.

I asked my wife to offer her prediction on the race order and she could care less.  Not that she doesn't follow politics.

You do realize that's less than half, right?

Paul has leads in some big Iowan counties, like Polk, Johnson, Black Hawk, and Warren counties.

I really still can't believe Santorum is in our discussion...

Well I hope Bachmann has some decency and quits tomorrow or soon.

Did Santorum somehow not remain an insufferable, busybody, sh*thead in the past week, or has Iowa gone fully insane?

Yesterday:

Asked about Mr Gingrich's weight issues, his spokesman, RC Hammond, denied Mr. Gingrich has had any since the campaign began. "I can't believe you're actually doing something about his weight," he told a reporter.

Pressed, Mr Hammond conceded, "He does enjoy a good meal."

Today:

Newt Gingrich

This morning: Visits Elly's Tea, Muscatine.
This afternoon: Visits Drake Restaurant, Burlington
This evening: Speaks at Black Hawk County Caucus, Cedar Falls

Newt's the only candidate announcing he's visiting eateries today. At least on this occasion Hammond wasn't bullsh*tting.

The media proped up a dummy candidate in their polls to get the evangelicals to break for one person.  This buffoon couldn't fill a room the size of a McDonald's restroom until this past weekend and even during this "surge" his rooms were 90% media.  The idea was to drive Ron Paul out of the top 2, by hook or by crook, so that the media can go back to ignoring him and focus on the candidates they want to face Obama.

Just saw a few minutes of Santourm speech, by the way:  first time he fills a room in Iowa and it's to re-establish his position that if you are not part of a traditional family then you are an undesirable that is to be cast out of society.  What a sickening human being he is.

this fits here better than in the other thread:

The key with Santorum isn't the candidate it's the media's coverage of him.  FOXNews and the radio neocons are going to rally around him while the mainstreamers pump him as the "conservative" challenger to the Mittster because they know his chances in a national election are laughable.  There was a reason the entire media body pumped him up leading up to yesterday.  Running on a platform of theocracy and christian jihad can win you the support of enough evangelicals to gather 25% of the vote in a heavily evangelical state but it's not something we'd have to worry about as the primary goes on..... unless the MSM and Hannitys, Limbaughs, and Becks of the world kid glove him with their coverage and treat him with more respect than is deserved of an absolute loon.

People need to get their anti-war and pro-civil liberty friends out to their state's republican primary, at all cost.  We can't survive much longer with under this one-party system of warfare and welfare.
