OVERALL, Iowa is a pretty moderate state that has stronger Democratic Party tendencies than stereotypes would let you believe.

And that's a legit balance...not like Pennsylvania which is "moderate" but more like 2 states crammed into oneLOL

The young don't have the experience, the independent can't make up their minds, so you are left with democrats voting for republicans. Hmmmm.....

I hope you're right Epig, obviously, but it seems like there might be a fix in for (can't believe I'm saying this) Santorum. How do you go from speaking to crowds of 10 people at your events to polling with the frontrunners over the course of 2 days?

It would be good if Ron Paul would already start campaigning or at least putting some ads out in states where he's not doing so well as in sorry FL where yours truly lives...

I believe Romney will win Iowa, then New Hampshire, and all the drama will fall away.

29 Things I Learned From Spending Two Days With Rick Santorum

29. There is a museum for everything in Iowa.

There is a museum for everything in Iowa.

It seems like every little town has one. This was the first Santorum event I went to in Knoxville, Iowa.

I find it funny that he called Santorum conservative. He's just a religious big government democrat.

Yep:

The fix is seemingly in for him, though. There's no way you can climb to where he is in the polls now, while maintaining campaign rallies of 20 people, without media manipulation. Notice when they cover his "surge" they show him close up, surrounded by media, because if they panned the rooms the smokescreen would be lifted. I've no trust in the republican party to run a fair caucus or vote count but hopefully I'm proven wrong.

19. Rick Santorum supporters don't do "WTF."

Rick Santorum supporters don&amp;amp;amp;#39;t do &amp;amp;quot;WTF.&amp;amp;quot;

In Sioux City, a bunch of ladies scolded me over my WTF sticker on my notepad. I took it off at the next stop.

Well, calling him a religo-fascist-nutjob would be rude. As would this:

Santorum

4. Coke cans = communist?

Coke cans = communist?

In Sioux City this question was asked: "We have so much foreign influence today. I'm looking at a Coke can with a polar bear on it. Where do we go from here?"

On a semi related note:

FDA Declares Rick Perry a Vegetable

Texas Governor Approved for School Lunches

WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report) – In a decision that raised some eyebrows in the nutrition community, the Food and Drug Administration announced today that it had declared Texas Governor Rick Perry a vegetable.

The decision, effective immediately, means that a serving of Mr. Perry would be approved for school lunches across the nation.

In an official statement, Mr. Perry said he was “surprised and honored” by the FDA’s decision.

“As a vegetable, I am honored to join the other three food groups,” said Gov. Perry. “Meat, dairy, and… nope, can’t do it. Oops.”
