I was quite disappointed with it.  I am giving it an end of year listen to see if it sounds any better.  The drumming is horribly repetitive and unimaginative.  Musically very unimpressive.  They really are a poor man's U2.

That's hurtful. Ouch You may be right though, I liked what I heard but didn't re-listen alot because it was a little uninspired maybe. But they have done the unimaginable in the last two decades, they have to run out of ideas at some point.

To be perfectly honest, Radiohead are a band that have mostly failed to impress me over the years.  Thom Yorke is kind of whiney, and his voice definitely isn't enjoyable enough to carry the lackluster dance music that he is singing over.  You have to understand that I've never really figured out what makes them considered a progressive rock band.  I think that U2, Muse and Coldplay do the same schtick far more creatively.

With all due respect, I think you're missing the point. Which is fine, but I want to balance it out with a positive opinion. It's a masterpiece and the album of the year for me. IMHO it alone beats the entire discographues of U2, Muse and Coldplay put together. Radiohead are one of the most creative and interesting band of the last 20 years. The approach to rhythm section arrangement on this album is completely unorthodox and that's what makes it different and awesome. So give it another try Tanner. You might like it considering your tastes.

To each their own, but I would much rather listen to Coldplay, Muse, and U2 then this album which I find has little to maintain my interest.  Musically I find it repetitive and thus boring, and aside from a couple of songs the lyrics are utter rubbish.  You can't tell me they didn't mail it in with Give Up The Ghost.  Nothing like repeating (Don't Hurt Me. Don't Hurt Me) and In Your Arms, In Your Arms for the entirety of the song.

This is perhaps my favorite PT album I own. Of course, I only own this, In Absentia, and Fear of a Blank Planet. Must buy back catalog!!
