The Ron Paul is racist stuff defies all common sense. The only people who seem to believe it are racist white republicans who are going to vote for someone like Newt.

Do you know why Rand’s laissez-faire utopia would fail?  It’s the exact same reason a socialist utopia would fail; people are imperfect.  We are greedy, envious, petty and selfish.  There will always be some among us who will better themselves specifically to the detriment of others because they simply don’t care.  There will always be those who, as they gain power and wealth, will want more at any expense.  We saw this in action in communist Russia.  It was rife with the kind of corruption described so very well in George Orwell’s Animal Farm.  Everyone was equal, but some were more equal than others.

And here's where the author shows his hand.  Nothing will ever "work" because people are imperfect.

I don't hold a Libertarian ideology because it will "work;" I hold it because it is ethical.

Of course, this whole article is completely confused with conservatism (in America) and libertarianism.

Not to sound like a crazed libertarian but with so many recent actions, including another habeaus corpus disregard and most recent attempt at censoring the internet...I'm starting to wonder if the Age of Tyranny is truly upon us.
It was Freedom House that noticed (in however they determine their rankings) that much of the world took a slide in Freedom these recent years, including Western Europe where I believe Italy lost its fully "free" status!

While it should not do so....guess economic crisis gives the government authority to impose upon our personal freedoms.

I know I know you cant draw lines in freedom especially about "personal" and "economic" and etc but too bad

I really think Bama is trying to take Wubya's place as greatest American troll. He's done a 180 on pretty much everything he ever said, has had zero push on anything and has failed to be anything like us true liberals had expected.
The only hope left may honestly be Paul and I still don't really like some sh*t about him.

Seriously, is Bama f**kin trolling us? I can let healthcare go because that was quite out of his hands (though even there he could've pushed more AND that POS bill was nothing like what I hoped) but god damn I used to at least think "Well Obama sucks but at least he's a fine guy" but it seems obvious he is like all the rest.

Talked a big game and I fell for it like others. He wants nothing different than the others
