I never really checked out Mars Volta, but i guess i'll be doing that in 2012! I really like what Omar and John Frusciante did together on some of their solo stuff and John loves Mars Volta, as well as having played with them. So it definitely sounds like something worth checking out for me! Approve

It was OK.  I've only listened to it a couple of times.  I really like Songs of Faith and Devotion and Violator.  Sounds of the Universe was pretty good too.  I'm not as familiar with their other albums.  I recently picked up 101 and Some Great Reward, but I've not listened to them yet.  I bought People Are People at the same time that I bought Exciter.  I'll probably have to give that one a spin again soon.

You still haven't!!? Man, there are high chances that you'll love them, it's high fuelled bombastic rock with a lot going on, great musicians.

I love "Songs of Faith and Devotion" too! Big smile For me, i like their 90's stuff more for some reason. That electronica/rock mixture is just fabulous, plus i love Martin Gore's simple guitar lines in songs like "The Love Thieves", "Enjoy the Silence" and "I feel you".
Nice! "Some Great Reward" is one of their best 80's albums, together with "A Broken Frame" and "Black Celebration". This is of course MY opinion, though.

Oh definitely, and with what I've understood your personal tastes to be (quite a bit of post-punk, amirite?) they should most likely click with you.

Fans of Mr Bungle should be delighted with this band. All albums are downloadable for free on Daniel Bautista's website.
