Been a while since I posted.

I am in the initial design stages of my website to sell prints of my art and have come up with this idea for protecting high resolution images from being easily downloaded to the local machine. Any techies out there who want to point out obvious problems- apart from the slower load times because the flash object contains large images- please give your input here.

Or

If you just want to sample a few of my images, go here:

^ This.

What you have there now doesn't really stop anyone from downloading the image as one could take easily take a few screenshots of the zoomed image and paste them together.

Thanks Exitthelemming.

That one is the obvious, but I decided on the flash container for interactive zooming and no 'Save as' on right click.

Thanks Vompatti.

Yes I know it can be put together with screen shots. However, the screen shot also contains the copyright notice. This may be a problem in that the image can be panned to be below the notice. Maybe I need another notice at the bottom as well.

I wouldn't worry about it so much.  If you art is really fantastic and distinctive someone could try to make money off of it but you in the end are the ultimate creator of the art and anything else you might create.  And since most artist's works don't become well known or appreciated until after they die, there's really not much there to worry about....

Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

Words of wisdom Slartibartfast.

I actually agree that allowing some sharing is necessary in spreading fame.

As an old artist I would like to gain a little fame before dying so your home truth about death can be propagated to its full potential.

These images are large- they can be printed at large sizes without loss of quality. I needed some way to be able to zoom in to the detail, because you do not see this on a size which would be suitable for a web page.
